Very terrible service. I placed an order in the first week of January and they have not delivered until the end of April. The manager makes no effort to send updates, you have to follow up yourself. When I called they were very rude and gave excuses like load shedding and that the wood is drying!!!! is this to say they have not delivered anything this whole year until April! Ridiculous!! and don't they factor in wood drying and load shedding into their business model??? They are also very rude when you try to enquire on the phone and say we don't know...it is the factory. Should I myself go to the factory and check? Isn't that their duty to their customer? They gave me a QR code to trace the progress and honestly that is useless too, it doesn't get updated and even goes past due and they don't say a word. My recommendation would be to place your order somewhere else

I placed an order last year august with them for dinning chairs this was at the Sandton branch was told by Celest their manager who hurried me into ordering due to them having a special it would take 6-8 weeks. After 6 weeks when I contacted them apparently their manager was not doing her work and the order was still to be put through. I was patient and waited after many follow ups with the new manager Chris and obviously payments made in August eventually the order was ready in early December after receiving the order and full payment was made I realised that they sent me the wrong chair. After a lot of frustration I asked if they could not refund me due to their negligence and terrible service. I was told no they won’t but they would correct their mistake. Had to wait for when their truck would come into this area again so that they could collect and was told to expect my chairs towards end Jan. I have contacted them was told it’s in the process still. If I don’t enquire I hear nothing and already 9 Feb and no chairs. Terrible service. Not to mention but I am actually a loyal customer and have ordered with them before apparently company not interested in their customers anymore just the money very sad. Taught they were still one of the South African companies u could trust .

They have forgotten the value of customer service or never had it to begin with SAD - Beautiful furniture, kind staff in store - terrible customer service from there on in. R30000 worth of furniture dumped and scuffed in my driveway with little to no care. When I nicely complained about it no one was even interested in apologizing. Chairs are also super uncomfortable so the experience has been bad all around. Writing this review because they don't respond when messaged privately.

We bought a dinning room table and 10 chairs from this company in Kramerville. The set was send down to our place in Plettenberg bay, the chairs were used for 3 weeks when one broke. This was in April 2019. We phoned and send emails to the Kramerville branch and at last in July it was send back to their Durban branch. We received our chairs back today, still not fixed and NOW badly damaged. We send it back with the driver and send photos of the problem to the Durban branch. Their staff in Kamerville now contacted us, but the lady found it very amusing that we are not happy. This is not service, we are being referred from one branch to the other, I am dealing with HOMEWOOD and where they want to resolve it is their decision. This is now becoming ridiculous to get 2 chairs sorted!!!

Hi there, I ordered a custom build coffee table from Homewood furniture in Sandton (Kramerville), I paid almost 50 % of the total cost of the coffee table as a deposit for them to start with the manufacturing of the coffee table, I also bought a plasma stand from them at a price of R17500 prior to ordering the coffee table, before they started the manufacturing process of the coffee table they sended me a drawing of the design and dimensions of the coffee table to my email address , I then confirmed with them that I'm happy with the design and they started with the manufacturing process, after the manufacturing was completed one of their salespersons phoned me and said that they are finished with the coffee table and that I need to pay the outstanding amount, then only after one week of paying them the coffee table will be at their display shop in Kramerville for collection, I told the salesperson that I sold my bakkie and will have to get hold of someone with a a bakkie to assist me in the collection of the coffee table, I told him that I will pay the outstanding money to them a week before I collect the coffee table and he agreed to it. The salesperson then communicated with me on email while I was on holiday but I didn't receive his mails because he entered the mail address wrongly, he even admitted to sending it to the wrong email address, The salesperson then communicated to me by watsapp after noticing that I don't reply on my mails and said that I need to pay the outstanding money for the coffee table because their manufacturing warehouse is going to charge me for storage of the coffee table which is R4000, I then told the salesperson that he must convince them to cancel the storage money because I didn't get my mails which he sended to a wrong email, he then also agreed that I was not at wrong and after a while notified me that their manufacturing store doesn't want to cancel the storage fees, I told the salesperson that he will have to communicate to the manufacturing store and tell them that he was at fault by notifying me on a wrong email, still they don't wanna drop the storage fees,I did pay for the coffee table in full but still don't wanna cancel the storage fees, I spended R41500 at their store for the coffee table and TV stand and this is the service I get for a mistake from their side. They never told me that I will be charged for storage, and if I was notified on the correct email address I wouldn't have been in this situation.

Bad news bears. Long (long) story short, I bought an Umhlanga Bed half off as showroom stock. I will note I was heavily pressured by WhatsApp to buy the bed in like a 24-hour timeframe so as not to lose the "deal." No mention was ever made of it potentially being in questionable condition. The bed was so creaky--SO CREAKY, like a whiny ferret was in bed with us all the time--that we became frantic and were actually losing sleep. The design was also very "loose," with parts moving around, unsecured chipboard panels as a base, and edges so thin one cracked within the first week. We were told all this was due to our wooden floors. The attitude was that it was our fault. We were then left to try to re-sell the bed--which has vanished off their website--privately. We wanted to have their team disassemble it, as assembly was included with our purchase, it's somewhat confusing, and we didn't want to damage the bed, but were quoted 2,400 for disassembly, local transport, and reassembly, which obviously no private buyer's gonna pay. For a company with fancy products, the service was super fly-by -night. There's no customer service number, no clear person with whom the buck stops, I had to drive a half hour to the showroom several times to get help, and I kind of want to charge them for gas. I don't know if they treat designers differently than individual customers. The company was bizarrely really defensive of the bed, as if admitting just this one bed might have an issue would be some kind of catastrophe. But if they hadn't been so defensive about a single item they sold they wouldn't be getting this kind of review.

i ordered a server from Homewood, i had to pay a 50% deposit before they would give me any drawings of what the server would look like. then i get a call to say the unit is ready and that i must pay the other 50% before 30 August 10am to ensure delivery the following tuesday. no one informed me that the consultant we dealt with has left the company. on day of delivery i get a call to say there is a problem with the hinges. how do you ask for payment and confirm delivery on a product that is not ready?? i was told a manager will call me and no one has bothered to contact me. completely unprofessional.

<p>We approached Homewood in Lynwood Bridge in July 2016 to custom build a Kholesi King bed with headboard for us and paid an amount of R 20 985. We were very excited when the bed was delivered and assebled. Although it was a beautiful bed to look at it became an absolute nightmare to sleep on, from the first night the bed made terrible creaking noises that we just couldn't sleep on it without waking up every time you turn around. We immediatly contacted the manager at Homewood and were told the bed needs to settle in HOWEVER after a month of disrupted sleep we complained again. To cut a long (sleepless night story short) Homewood came out 4 times and every time tried something new, from spacers to custom designed support legs for the slats....in fact we felt like guinea ***s. One would think that at a R20k price tag, their designs would be tried and tested. This all came to a head in January when they came out again but without resolve....at this stage we had enough and asked them to fetch the bed and demanded a refund. What made this experience even more disturbing is that we desperatly wanted to talk to the MD (owner) to ensure that he was aware of our case ONLY to be told that the MD does not make his number available to customers. Although we did receive our money back we felt we should make potential customers aware that the Homewood product is beautiful and expensive BUT not that practical and customer friendly!! Also do not expect the MD (owner) to take the time to get involved in customer complaints</p>
