I have never been this disappointed like this in my life before ordered lunch for myself and 3 other colleagues at Jolly Grubber which is located at Albert Street ( Durban) the service we received today was the worst ever and yet we are regular customer in fact our whole company orders from them , we received small portions of the meal which consists of ( pap, 2 lamb chops, drumettes and a mutton sausage) the meat was ok but the pap and chutney we received was horrible the pap was like porridge the chutney was like a river it was a terrible sight luckily I took a picture of the food as proof should it be needed when I called back to complain the manager Zainub was very rude making excuses saying that it was the 2nd lot of the pap that was cooked hence why it was wet like that so I told her that I would really like a compensation which fell on deaf ears , according to my knowledge when you go to a restaurant and received bad food they give you a fresh new order but this lady was very rude and arrogant she lacks management and customer service skills her poor communication will be the downfall of the company I am very disappointed in this store. I placed an order with Jolly Grubber Albert Street via the MrD app. There was a slight error and upon calling the store immediately to notify them not to make the food or go ahead with the order for which the funds were already deducted they told me to Call the MrD call centre and they can assist to change the order. Only for the MrD call centre to mess me around, after speaking to the 4th person they said I was informed incorrectly and the restaurant has already made the order and nothing can be done. This was literally a few minutes after calling. It was Impossible that the order or food rather was even done a percentage yet I was told the order was made completely already and ready for collection just a mere 15 minutes after placing it. The restaurant manager, Nafisa and the people I spoke to were all deceptive and absolutely unhelpful. I even said if they can please have it delivered I will gladly pay for delivery and they said MrD can sort it out, only to be told by the MrD agent that they cannot do that. Clearly now we know how they make their money. Off unsuspecting clients who ask for help but are given the run around. Deceptive store and staff and pathetic service.

I placed an order on the app on Sunday. Generally I get a notification and email which I didn't not get this time but on the app it showed that it was in process. An hour went by and I had not received my food so I called the take away itself as I had no contact details for the app and the lady told me that she received the order which I thought was true because the money was deducted from my account and she said that I should have my food in the next 40 minutes so I waited and 1 hour and 30 minutes went by with no follow-up call. I called for the second time and spoke to a different person who then told me that my order is ready for the delivery guy to pick up and it should be here soon so waited more. To my surprise my food was still not here so after half an hour I called Again! I asked to speak to the manager, she told me that the delivery guy has collected and left already so I asked if she had a number for him or if she could find out where he is etc. Shockingly she starts to take off with me and was terribly rude once I told her how long I've waited for an order that I had placed at 11:46 and cut the call while I was still talking. I couldn't do much by that time so I just decided to place the order directly to Jolly Grubber, an order that I got only at 15:45 that I had to pay for AGAIN. I am terribly disappointed in Uber Eats Services as I order from you all the time as well as Jolly Grubbers staff members who are absolutely not helpful and rude.

Jolly Grubber West Street serves the most delicious meals. I love their Chicken Tikka, kebabs, chips and pita bread. Food is served hot and the portions are great. Excellent service from their friendly and efficient staff. The restaurant is clean and hygienic. I highly recommend them. Keep up the great work Jolly Grubber.

Jolly Grubber West Street serves the most delicious meals. I love their Chicken Tikka, kebabs, chips and pita bread. Food is served hot and the portions are great. I had such a disappointing and distraught experience with Jolly Grubber the one at Point on West Street in Durban. On the 16th May 2019 my brother and I came in and made our order and all was great and we took our seats to wait for the order. While we were seated waiting for our food, a guy behind the counter assuming he was the manager was shouting and swearing at the delivery guy for talking to a walking by pedestrian. Unfortunately I could not get his name. He went on to let the employee know that he does not need him and he needs this job even more and he can fire him whenever he wants. He is useless to him. All because he greeted a walking by pedestrian, so I called the lady who was serving us and I asked her to please let her boss know we as their client are feeling uncomfortable sitting here and listening to him belittling his employee and threatening him and also using vulgar language. He heard me say this because that's how close we were to him and his ranting, and said if I have something to say I must confront him. So I told him it's not right to be speaking with his employees in that manner let alone belittle and swear at someone for greeting! He said that was his ****en shop and he can do whatever he want in it. I let him know as a client I'm uncomfortable he is not even apologising for what he is doing, I don't want to spend my money where people can't respect others but prefer to bully others cause they think their superior and can talk any how in their "****n shop". He gave me my money back. I walked out and he screamed "**** you" after I told him how much of a coward he was. I have always had a great experience at that jolly Grubber and the food is to die for but knowing that but the disgusting service and treatment the poor employee was given I couldn't sit there and take it. I hope me voicing my opinion didn't get the delivery guy fired either cause the owner seemed like he wanted a reason to show how big his ***** were when he was just a coward!

<p>So our Friday tradition is to order a meal where my colleagues & I sit down & have a meal together. This week we unfortuantely decided to choose Jolly Grubber Springfield after quite a while as we previously decided to stop patronising their store due to their utterly poor quality of food. To be blunt, their chips are more often than not drenched in oil, their pitas as well are soaked in oil and the portion sizes would leave a toddler still hungry. This week the portion size of ther infamous Combo 2 / Tikka Box was RIDICULOUS!!! the size of one fillet could easily have fitted in that of a two year old. Pricing goes up occasionally but the quality of food ever decreases... we have also had experiences previously where the service was not as expected.</p> <p> </p> <p>This is not a complaint of one individual but that of a group of people.</p> <p>Jolly Grubber Springfield needs to to be schooled in service training as well as offering their customers proper portions for paying customers - they aren't doing us any favors - we pay for what we want !!!</p> <p> </p> <p> </p>

<p>Jolly Grubber North Beach is by far the worst place to eat it’s a shame I can’t even give it no star. The owner is rude, arrogant and has absolutely no people s****s. Openly insulting his customers and justifying it by any means. He has no respect even for children. Jolly Grubber North Beach best advice I can give is to never eat there. Any place is better even if it means a long walk or a drive. You will get much better service and professional service and behaviour with quality. I am never going to Jolly Grubber ever again. </p>
