I’ve been taking my car to Kia Silverlakes for yearly service since I bought the car and I must say I’ve been getting a good service. But now on the 25th of April 2025, my car was in a good condition no damages on the body and when I fetch the car, the fender liner was damaged. I took the car back and department manager “Elis” I think said she’s investigate. After her investigations, she said she is will to help me fix the car but we have to go 50/50 with the cost. By saying that it means you acknowledge that the fault is there’s. I mean why would you wanna meet me halfway if you know you’re not at fault? When I disagree with her teams and conditions she said she can’t help.

Dear HelloPeter Team, I am writing to formally lodge a complaint against KIA Silverlakes for selling me a vehicle with a faulty or old battery and failing to provide proper customer service despite my numerous attempts to resolve the issue. In November 2022, I purchased a KIA Seltos from KIA Silverlakes. Within just six months, I started experiencing battery problems. Given that the vehicle was nearly new, this was highly unusual. I reported the issue multiple times to KIA Customer Care and KIA Silverlakes, but my complaints were ignored. In 2023/2024, after relentless follow-ups, the dealership manager finally attempted to address the problem. However, instead of providing a new battery, they merely replaced mine with a second-hand one taken from the salesman’s own Kia Seltos. This was an unacceptable solution, and unsurprisingly, the problem persisted. I have since had to call KIA Roadside Assistance countless times to jump-start my car. The situation escalated last week when I was stranded at Intercare with my autistic child in the rain, adding immense stress to an already frustrating ordeal. Yesterday, the same battery issue happened again. Upon closer inspection, I discovered that my 2022 model Kia Seltos is now running on a 2019 battery—a clear indication that I was sold a vehicle with an old or faulty battery from the start. I firmly believe that KIA Silverlakes took advantage of me because I am a woman who is not well-versed in car mechanics. KIA Silverlakes has demonstrated a complete lack of accountability and customer care, leaving me with a faulty vehicle and constant inconvenience. This experience has made it evident that purchasing a car from KIA is a serious mistake, as they do not prioritize their customers’ concerns or provide fair resolutions. I demand that KIA immediately replace my battery with a brand-new, genuine KIA battery, as should have been the case from the beginning. If this issue is not resolved, I will have no choice but to escalate my complaint further. I urge all potential buyers to avoid KIA Silverlakes if they want to spare themselves similar frustrations and poor service. Regards, Nokuthula

I have been taking my car in for service here for years and I have not had an issue in the past but I took my car in recently and they were quoting me R35000 worth of repairs required on the car. Granted, there were some issues I asked them to look into to quote me on but those were less than R10000. Because I simply could not afford the repairs I opted not to go through with it and took it to another mechanic that said none of the issues they stated are there, it seems like they were taking chances at ****ming me as the parts are fine. I wish someone could investigate these dealerships as we are being mislead because we ordinary people cannot verify some of the things they do or tell us. I have concluded that I will not be servicing my car there in future as all trust is lost. If you do decide to service your car there, ask them to back up their quotes with explanations and ask for the parts they replaced back

Worst dealership! This is the kind of treatment one would expect from other high-end dealerships, but it seems the South African market along with its culture, is now saturated with the influence of compromised ethics and blatant extorsion. In the space of two years, I've received quotes, after having my car serviced, that combined, has reached over R180 000. This is for a small KIA Picanto, with less than 60 000 km's. I've had it reviewed twice as well, with the result being that none of it was needed. This person (specialist) actually drove and asked for the car to be hoisted/lifted again and inspected the car himself- coming once more to the same conclusion. For the people who are unaware and do not have someone that they can ask for help- get a second opinion! Do not trust these people to act in good faith, simply because they sell 'family vehicles' and seem to care about clients. They don't. No matter if you're loyal to the brand or the dealership- they do not care about you. They have a quota to fill and that is all you are to them. Shame on them, for acting the way we expect from our politicians- not as a registered company, that is there to provide services for their clients. I have and will continue to dissuade anyone from this brand. They are a disgrace.

Today when I was about to start my car it gave problem s, and I called Kia Silverlakes service department and I was assited by young female, we spoke same language Setswana. I told her that my car has a problem with Malfunction indicator lamp. She asked for my cellphone number and she told me that my car was serviced by Hatfield and I should call Hatfield branch. ***********. She should have just given me Kia Road Assistant number. Then I called Hatfield, Ashanti assisted me by just giving me Road Assistance number and the problem was solved. Thank you Ashanti for you help. My worries is an the Services I got at Services department Silverlakes. The girl is *********** and did not want to do her job. And apparently when I call road Assistant the car was booked to Silverlakes where I did not get help at first approach. (1st call). Just forgot to take the girl's name.

I want to thank Penny Mabuso for her exceptional service. I called to enquire about a second hand car I saw on the Kia website and she actually helped me reserve the car for my viewing. She has been great and has been keeping me updated with everything concerning my purchase. She even organized a loan vehicle without me having to ask whilst Kia is fixing the small dents on my vehicle. I will forever be greatful for the seamless service. I really appreciate it.

All was fine at Kia Silver lakes until I took my car for a warranty related issue with my tow bar. Vehicle is a 2022 kia SUV and it has a Kia installed tow bar, 1 year down the line tow bar harness is dead, causing issues on the brake light and blinker. Guess what I am told it needs replacement pay 20k or go home. Took the car elsewhere issue is fixed free of charge. Will never set foot at Kia Silver lakes even if they are 1 street away from my little hut.
