Our stay at Kiara Lodge was unfortunately a very mixed experience. We visited for a birthday celebration and stayed in two different three-bedroom units due to booking availability. Upon arrival at the first unit, we noticed two water leaks. These were reported immediately and were fixed the following day. Despite this inconvenience, the first unit was spacious with a pleasant, modern look and feel. Although we were told it had recently been renovated—which did not entirely appear to be the case—it was still comfortable and acceptable. The first three nights of our stay were enjoyable, and the restaurant staff were friendly, professional, and very accommodating. However, on the night before we checked out of the first unit, there was a very unpleasant stench in one of the bedrooms. It appeared to be coming from the toilet pipes or possibly damp carpets. The following day we checked out and moved to another three-bedroom unit. After making arrangements with reception, we waited approximately two hours for the next unit to be prepared. Unfortunately, the condition of the second unit was extremely disappointing. It appeared outdated and poorly maintained, both inside and outside, as though it had not been renovated in decades. There were broken tiles, stained walls, damaged doors, and overall the unit looked unclean and neglected. Most concerning was that the unit we were allocated looked nothing like the one advertised online. The interior and overall standard were completely different, which felt misleading and dishonest. Considering that Kiara Lodge is not an inexpensive destination, the unit was absolutely not value for money. I enquired at reception and with reservations about the possibility of upgrading the booking, but I was informed that no alternative units were available, despite visibly seeing several units that appeared to be unoccupied. The condition of the unit was so disappointing that we strongly considered leaving and returning home. In the end, we stayed the one night but checked out well before the scheduled departure time. Based on this experience, I would unfortunately not recommend Kiara Lodge to anyone looking for value for money, cleanliness, comfort and well-maintained accommodation.

I am writing to formally complain how Kiara Lodge has not paid my R11,200, which they were supposed to pay 7 days after 15th January. I am so disappointed in the run around they have given me regarding my payment, its just sooo scary how organisations operate

The restaurant, rooms, and overall facilities were great and well-maintained, which we really appreciated. However, we encountered a couple of issues that impacted our stay. Two of the rooms we booked had no hot water, which was particularly uncomfortable given it was the middle of winter. Unfortunately, when we reported this to reception, the response was indifferent and unhelpful. Additionally, housekeeping began hovering around our rooms from 8am—even though checkout is at 10am. They were waiting outside the door and in the garden area, which felt intrusive. I was still getting dressed when they started pushing to clean the room. When I brought this up with reception, I was told I should have asked them to leave, and that cleaning starts at 8am. While I understand staff have their routines, guests should be able to enjoy their full stay without feeling rushed out. Overall, a beautiful property with a lot of potential, but guest service and communication need improvement.

I'm very DISAPPOINTED with the Body Bliss Day Spa. I made an appointment on the 26th of April 2023 @ 11:50 am for the 14th of May 2023 (for Mother's day). Everything was in order. I then contacted the spa again on the 10th of May 2023 @15:49 to confirm my appointment/booking. Everything was still in order. On the 14th when i arrived at the spa they informed me that there is no such booking. I drove all the way from Bethlehem only to find out that there was no booking. Its unacceptable. Because i know i made a booking the previous month already and i even confirm few days before the booking date. The booking that i had made was to surprise my mother and mother in law for mother's day. My question is why didn't the staff notify me before to say that there's a crisis or what ever. Because i drove so far for nothing . Wasted petrol for nothing. I'm very disappointed.

There are al lot to do and to enjoy. The hiking trails, swimming pool, restaurant, put-put play rooms, atmosphere, outdoor games and life is fantastic. Staff were more than friendly and helpful. I was misinformed on the website about their so- called wheelchair suite, it was up two flights of stairs! Saul was wonderful in trying to move me to a better suite, but I still had to hop to the toilet on one foot, and had a terrible night. Management didn't bother to check I was ok, and was dismissive and unhelpful. Definitely not going back there

This is our second time at Kiara Lodge. The first time was in Lockdown and now again. How different can it be? We had no amenities except the 2 bars of soap. No coffee, tea, sugar etc. no other bathroom amenities this was all there the first time we visited. Then in the Kitchen an open bag of chips under the sink from previous guest (I guess) and in the master bedroom in the table next to the bed a pair of black socks also from previous guest.
