I recently cancelled my OnePlan pet insurance, in March to be exact. A double payment was deducted after I cancelled at the beginning of May, which I disputed almost a week ago. Having to phone back and restate my issue, I was requested to wait and then transferred to another person. I dealt with a Retentions consultant at OnePlam, Calvin Sweeting. Thanks to his steady hands and calming demeanor, the matter was resolved amiicably and without any furore. Thank you Calvin, for the manner in which you conducted yourself in dealing with my query. You're an asset to the company and you are hopefully on the fast track to management and yet greater things!
I recently had a good experience with ooba related to the claims process. My geyser was replaced by a great service provider. No damage or additional issues experienced.
Calitz Real Estate is Real-ly Rubbish at rental administration! In a recent exchange with them, I pointed out that an item in the apartment, the stove and oven, was due for replacement due to wear and tear. I asked that they "go and bat for me" with the owner for a new setup. The numbers markings on the oven are all but gone and the stove plates are as old as the apartment itself, about 30 years? Their answer, from the owner no doubt, is that it's wear and tear and I was aware of it when I moved in. WHAT??? It's the SPOT ON reason as to why something SHOULD be replaced. Yet they choose to just ignore the fact that I could burn the entire complex down if I wanted to use the stove and oven. Their agents are lazy, useless, and have no intention to "service" their customers. They are getting their commission and the renters can go fly a kite! Never rent a property through them!!
I had an issue with a fridge that a previous service vendor supposedly fixed. Graham's Appliances & Refrigeration came out promptly, looked at the problem, and gave me a rough estimate on the cost. They picked up my fridge and gave me a loan unit. When it came to quoting it was almost to the cent correct. The fridge was dropped off after repair and is running perfectly! Thanks Graham's! AWESOME service! Great value for money!
I contacted Directappliance to help with repairing a fridge-freezer I'd bought. They came out as advertised, "fixed" the problem, and left. 3 hours later we realized the freezer was not working. I contacted the technician to come back and finish the repair. After several messages and one empty promise of a return, I contact the "manager/owner" from the website's number (https://directappliance.co.za/). He was very apologetic and said he would get a technician on it. It has now been 3 days and nothing has happened: no contact, no repair, so no working freezer, no frozen food capability!! They took R1600 for a repair they never completed!
I have been trying for weeks now to get a hold of Transunion to ask for assistance on how to get my credit score updated as I have paid off at east 5 of my debts shown on their profile in the past 3 months. Their website NEVER works when you try submit a query. You always get "Oops! Looks like something went wrong!" Heaven forbid you call the customer care line! You wait in the queue for at least 15 minutes which does not work that well when you're calling from a prepaid cell phone number. Do these people not realize that they are *****ing with your livelihood? Or is it like everything in this country lately: if they don't mind it doesn't matter. Maybe it's a racial thing? The should jack their service up and get with the program!
I have an account being collected by these people. Periodically they send out SMSs to scare the living daylights out of people where they state the recipient should confirm their chosen domicilium so the sheriff can come and deliver legal documents. This is done regardless of you paying you bill on time and as arranged! I phoned the call center and lost it with them for scaring pople with stupid SMSs like the ones they send about the sheriff. I get told by the call centre agent: "Sorry sir, the system does it. We don't have control over it." I asked to speak to the supervisor, hoping that my plea will have a little more substance if the supervisor talks to their IT people to correct this scare tactic. I got 2 sentences into my appeal and the fool just puts the phone down on me. Bear in mind: I wasn't screaming, but I was VERY upset. He didn't offer an explanation, just put the phone down! RUDE! RUDE! RUDE! Seriously unprofessional!!
I thought I hit quite a bargain when I came across JCT Auto Spares in Midrand. They charged me R225 for a set of Golf Mk1 headlamps. made by Autopal. I fitted the headlamp myself, as I've done 100's of times before to the previous 5 Mk1 Golfs I've owned. Today is two weeks after I purchased and installed the headlamps. While driving to work, in the usual stop-go traffic Johannesburg is renowned for, I heard what sounded like glass falling on the road in front of my car. I stuck my head out of the window and saw what looked like a headlamp lens in pieces on the floor. When I got to work and inspected the front of my car it turned out to be my headlamp's lens! I phoned JCT Auto Parts to complain about the quality of the good they sell. The "lady" in control of their "customer services" say to me that their terms and conditions states that "unless the goods are fitted by a professional and registered mechanic or auto electrician" they cannot do anything about this... Then she argues with me to say I cannot list them on Hello Peter for the same reason?? Don't buy ANY Golf Mk1 headlamp parts made by Autopal from JCT Auto Spares and expect them to honor ANY sort of come-back or breakage. This is rubbish and typical of people who sell rubbish quality stuff!

We had secured a furniture move from a company call Maison Movers for move from Vereeniging to Klerksdorp. they gave us a good rate, which I thought was fair and we agreed to the terms of the deal: Rx to move my parents' furniture on a specific date.

The crew arrived on time and started packing, BUT THEN I get called over by the supervisor / head mover and told the guy who quoted on the move, John, wants to talk me. He then proceeds to tell me that they quoted incorrectly and they didn't take into account the distance of the move, the truck will be heavy on petrol and him guys still need to get paid.

John, why is this my problem? We agreed on a deal and now YOU'RE not happy because you messed up the quote?

It took at least 10 phone calls and speaking to the owner of the company, Calvin, to get the matter resolved: We had to pay an extra R600 or they would call their movers back to the office and we'd be stuck with out getting moved!

How do you do business like this? how can you possibly hope to surivive when your customers have to oay for you staff's incompetence?

In closing: their crew was magic! Loaded everything in an hour, once the money issues were sorted. Got to the detination in very good time. Ofloaded in record time! Maybe these guys should go into business for themselves and not work for Maison Movers.
Don't EVERT trust Maison Movers to quote properly or to stick to the conditions of the deal agreed to. Worst moving experience ever!

After struggling for 2 months and a couple of days to get my Telkom line moved, I finally got it sorted, thanks to a field / contractor supervisor who knows what he is doing!

Thanks Freddie!
