DSTv publicly announced that channel 215 Motorsport would be a popup channel for Compact subscribers until 30 September. In the middle of watching the Lone Star Le Mans race I get this dumb stupid message popping up onscreen that the channel is not on my package and froze my screen!!!!!!!!! I had to move to another channel before the message disappeared. If it is not stupid popup messages telling me "new programs are being added every day so check back regularly", which popups completely FREEZE my screen, necessitating a reboot, I get dumb stupid sms messages invading my screen. NONE OF MY COMPLAINTS ARE BEING TAKEN NOTICE OF BECAUSE DSTV DOES NOT CARE!!!!! My viewing is being WRECKED by DSTV who run a total MONOPOLY. I AM SICK AND TIRED OF DSTV.
The incompetence and lack of customer service at Vodacom is appalling to say the least. Porting my number to Vodacom has so far, been an absolute nightmare. Days of waiting after starting the process on 26 August, unnecessary delays due to the incompetence of the technical department, the incompetency of the people at the branch I went to, not all my necessary details captured as they should have been, causing more delays ...I can go on and on. Today again, for the second time, after my phone was still giving me "no network" after the Vodacom sim was in, I went back to the 4U branch in Clearwater Mall. I spent a horrible time there while the assistant was trying to find out on the phone from Vodacom technical what went wrong, while a number of Vodacom assistants stood in a gaggle inside the doorway talking and laghing very loudly, making it extremely difficult for me to hear either the assistant or the technician on the line. I am in my seventies and hard of hearing as it is. How on earth can the manager there condone such a racket from their employees when there are customers in the shop? It is disturbing and distracting! It shows complete lack of respect. It turns out that the porting procedure seems to have not ported all the facilities, only the call facility, so the mobile data could not connect to internet. Then I was told the problem can only be fixed on Monday, 2 September, as technical do not work over weekends! To boot, my online banking did not work as the sim swop and incomplete Vodacom porting caused the bank to put a halt to my online banking as a security measure (rightly so) because of possible *****, meaning I had to physically go into the bank to do my business, yet another imposition caused by Vodacom. The total incompetence and lack of decent customer care at Vodacom, both from the technical branch and the 4U branch, is disgusting, to say the least. I am very disappointed and actually wish I never ported my number at all.
I bought a packet of meat at Food *****s Hillfox on 5 July 2023, without noticing the BB date of only 2 days later...7th. Today, Sunday 9th, I took the meat out of the fridge to cook, only to get knocked sideways from the reek. It had gone off. I returned it to the shop. I asked the lady at enquiries to call the manager. While waiting, another chap came along (unsure if he was also one of the managers and forgot to get his name). I showed him the meat. The other manager (I surmise he is the butchery manager) came up. I am an elderly pensioner by the way and R57 is a lot of money to me). He was downright unfriendly, smelt the meat, then bruskly asked when I bought it, checked the tag on the meat then offhandedly, without a smile on his face, said he will refund me but the meat should have been used 7th. The other chap looked rather uncomfortable at the way the manager spoke to me. The manager took the pack of meat and flounced off.The other (friendly) chap took me to one of the tills and refunded me. The shop was noisy and my hearing bad so I did not hear all he said to me. When I saw the refund I said it is more than I bought for and he said he was doing a double refund for the inconvenience. What a pleasant, unexpected and very welcome surprise! I thanked him and left. I am so sorry I did not get his name, but the butchery manager (if that is who he was) can definitely learn much from this friendly, polite and helpful chap.
I went to Dr Kaka about 2 weeks ago, who diagnosed me with strep throat and gave me medication to treat it. This doctor is an absolute GEM. He has a gentle, quiet voice and a kind bedside manner which immediately put me at ease. His staff at the counter when you come into the rooms are helpful and friendly. The tariff he charges is a very reasonable flat tariff which includes all medication at their rooms. I found the experience very pleasant and will definitely return as this practice is helpful towards the elderly who have no medical aid. Muldersdrift is a little further to drive from where I live but definitely worth every km. I went early just as the rooms opened and waiting time was about 50 minutes. It is a busy practice but is run so professionally and in such a truly caring and helpful manner that many other doctors' rooms can learn from this establishment on how to treat people. It is not a money-making racket, it is truly a family practice. Thanks to Doc Mo. He is my hero.
If I could give NO stars, I definitely WOULD!!! On 27 January I went to Spar, Goldman Street, Florida. At the till, while I was about to pay, a man came and stood almost on top of me he was so close. I get panic attacks when people ge so close to me and immediately asked him to please move away. Why the till lady allowed him to move so close to me in the queue while I was still paying, is beyond my comprehension. She said nothing. I asked him twice to move away and he became rude, abusive and insulting and refused to move. I grew extremely anxious and called for security. A female security guard came directly up to us but did absolutely nothing about the situation even though I complained and she could see I was starting to panic. She did absolutely nothing, the till lady did nothing. I called for the manager who did not come. I managed to pay for my purchases and left the shop, my blood pressure sky high and in shaking panic mode, almost in tears. I heard derisive laughter behind me as I walked out of the shop. Suffice it to say, THAT branch of SPAR will never, ever, ever ever see me AGAIN !!! It is shocking that SPAR management and security cannot give a damn what goes on in their shops. Covid is still around. Why are people in queues not keeping their distance? Why is SPAR management allowing people in queues to load their purchases off and stand close to the person who is still busy at the till, without waiting their turn in the queue, at a safe distance? Ordered 2 reusable protective visor face shields from Medmart Randburg. Excellent quality. I find I can breathe easily and do not get panic attacks as I do with cloth masks, and the best part is that the shield does not cover my spectacles which is a big problem with all other face shields offered by other companies. The shield covers top of nose to just below the chin so I felt very safe wearing it in the shops. Collected from their warehouse in Randburg. I recommend them. On the slight negative side, be aware that if you order online and prefer to collect and pay on collection, you need to take CASH with as cards are not accepted. I discovered this only on collection.
This company SPAMS people mercilessly with sms offers and phone calls, promoting their service, telling me I qualify for a gift, lying through their teeth saying someone referred me, I keep reporting and blocking the numbers as fraud and spam but they keep using different numbers. I am now considering LEGAL ACTION. They are the most persistent sods who have NO regard for privacy of others, do NOT know how to SPELL the word NO and I flatly refuse to accept this harassment any longer!!!!! I am now laying a charge of harassment and ilkegal spamming against Platinum Life.
Life Flora hospital is the WORST when it comes to communication!! I have been trying to trace a cellphone which was mislaid there....three days battling to get hold of anyone who can assist me. Phone rings off the hook. Rventually got through only to first hear a robotic message re Covid, then the phone rings and rings incessantly. Eventually answered by the operator. Was told to phone the ICU where the patient was as the nurses would know about the phone. Phoned. They know nothing. Tells me to phone Samantha White. Her phone rings off the hook. No answer. Phoned again next day. No reply. Tried again and again. Again today. Told by reception to phone security department. Explained the problem after eventually getting through and told they will look and I must phone back later today (I MUST PHONE BACK!!!- WHAT a cheek. I phoned back...another security person answered the phone. He knows nothing. Why is it so difficult to communicate with anyone at this hospital????! I sent a complaint email to the hospital manager, Jacques de Klerk. Whether this mail will even be looked at is a moot point. Do I have to physically go to the hospital to sort this out??? They have all the details of the patient but nobody can assist me in finding his cellphone which remained behind there while being transferred to another hospital after lying in Life Flora ICU for three weeks. Pathetic, to say the least.
I would like to recommend regional store manager, Boetie Vermaak, and his team, at Checkers Hyper, 14th Avenue, Constantia Kloof. He is always so friendly and helpful and takes pensioners into consideration which is a boon for the elderly who battle financially. The store is clean, neat and well laid out and the produce fresh. I appreciate the fact that special consideration is given to the elderly during Covid lockdown and that all necessary care is taken to ensure the safety and cleanliness of the store, its staff and customers.
I would like to recommend Neil and his team at Hi-Q, Motor City, Constantia Kloof. I took my 17 year old Toyota to him for an exhaust issue. In no time at all, his team efficiently sorted out the problem and it did not cost me an arm and a leg either. Friendly, helpful and a pleasure to do business with.
