This company is VERY fishy, beware. The cape town number goes straight to voicemail, and emails go unanswered. I tried calling the 'Joburg branch' only to hear that the people on the other end of that telephone number have NOTHING to do with Peninsula, and have been trying to get them to take down their contact details for months. I can't categorically say they are *****sters, but proceed carefully - I would recommend looking elsewhere honestly
One company i can be bothered to positively review on hellopeter, which is often a forum for venting anger at bad companies. Really excellent service from Atomic - fast, friendly, just good. Can’t recommend them highly enough!
Worst customer service ever. Avoid this company. I had to report them to 'Paygate' who facilitated the payment, to get any sort of response, after weeks of silence following my order, and no delivery. Paygate contacted PClink on my behalf and eventually this resulted in my order being delivered ,thank goodness. But it was touch and go. Seriously it's not worth the savings buying with this company, seek alternative.
Best cakes in town. Worst service in town. IDIOTIC system where you have to trust a faceless automated online ordering service. No human contact, no telephone numbers to call, no cakes kept in store for easy in person purchase. You HAVE to order online, and trust that it will arrive on the requested day. I’m looking for alternatives, i’ve had enough with this company.
T&cs on takealot are hidden in a separate document. For example: There is a 4 per customer limit on in app deals or daily deals. This limit is not referenced in the user interface, so if you buy more than 4, you are charged full price for items 5+ This is not acceptable behaviour! Amazon or ebay would never charge you a price other than the one at which the item is advertised. Simply labelling it *max 4 per customer per day* WITHIN THE LISTING would solve this issue.
Avoid at all costs. The moment you pay them, communication ceases and that's it. Don't fall victim. report cyber crime at https://cybercrime.org.za/reporting
BEWARE 2 THINGS (re: joburg airport branch): TRACKING - they track you with a hidden GPS. If you go over the speed limit even for a moment (eg when safely overtaking a truck) you get an SMS warning you to slow down. I received a further message on the first evening of our rental, threatening that if i 'continued breaking the speed limit' i would be charged for a vehicle collection (they would literally drive immediately to kruger to collect the vehicle and charge me for the service). This all seemed a bit over the top. IF IT HAD BEEN MADE CLEAR IN ADVANCE, i would have at least accepted this policy, or actually, probably gone with another rental company. But to have this surprise experience stressed me out, and i didn't sleep well that night because i was really irritated that i was being 'spied on' without my consent. I ended up driving back to joburg at 100km/hr just because i was so nervous about extra charges. We were late for our appointment that day. DEPOSIT/SECURITY AMOUNT IS HUGE- The value of our booking was really good actually, we had no problem with that (something like R1000 for 4 days, toyota corrolla). but my girlfriend made the booking, and when we were checking out the car, she needed to produce her card for security deposit. Totally normal. Except, they said the account needed to have R17,000 in it for this process to be accepted. Crazy. So we had to get our phones out and move money around before we could check out the car. Not the end of the world for us, but irritating nonetheless, and could be a train smash for someone else without the ability to make this transfer instantly, into their card account. At the time of review i have not been refunded my deposit yet, so fingers crossed there are no more nasty surprises... I was told it would be a couple of weeks (why??)
A plague on these charlatans. They snatch your money and run, forget about any service, be warned. AVOID!
AKA Fixit.co.za These people can't fix a sandwich, let alone an appliance. Possibly the rudest people in the Western Cape. Do not consider going near this business, I'm serious, you'll regret it.
