Fast shipment, amazing deals way better than Takealot (on the things I've wanted to get). Amazon uses courier partners and delivery is up to them, I haven't had a bad experience even including this years Black Friday Deals. Depending on your area and courier provider this may vary but being in a main city centre they've sent parcels with DPD and Courier Guy so far and it's been timely as always from these couriers. If there are delivery issues, I'd say contact the couriers directly. Regarding their BFCM deals, so far they've been above and beyond other retailers selling the same things, with limited quantity. I saw a PS5 Slim go for R8999 (at midnight Black Friday) where competitors were promoting R11499. Other things like Hot Wheels have been averaging 27-40% off. I haven't had to return anything yet as these are all known brands and not something that I haven't purchased before. So the overall purchasing and delivery has been really good. I ordered 9:30pm last night, and these have already arrived with free shipping and no spend limit! Over time I bet Amazon will be even better offering and offering prime. While their products are that of Takealot it's all about price right now, so they're winning! Thanks for making a great Black Friday and not this measly R50 off a R800 product!
This website never works, early November 2024 I got an SMS saying buy 5 sleeves and get R250 off using the code "NESPRET250" (something like that). That never worked. Now I want to order pods again, qualified for free shipping but says "Please choose shipping method" which is literally selected. Please fix your site, it's really bad.
Getting a lot of spam from this company lately. I've never bought from them, or consented to receive marketing (SMS, Phone calls or emails) from this company. POPIA is a joke. I tried to OPT OUT via SMS but here we are. Still getting calls and SMS's.
Poor delivery service and after sales. They sent me an extra frame (which they didn't know about and worth R10k). I told them they made a mistake and I still had to jump through hoops to get it back to them... Not even a thank you.
I know it's area dependent but our local courier partner has dropped the ball hard. Parcels are on/off the vehicle for like 4-5 business days before we get it. I've literally had another delivery that was partly delivered, then the rest were delivered a few days later (which I pointed out that my order needed another item he just shrugged it off). This happens every single time a store ships to us via Fastway. They really need to upgrade their system to improve delivery, please avoid them at all costs as a business owner. Use another service, there are just as affordable solutions that are more reliable.
The best payment gateway solution for South Africa. Super quick, and great API for developers (Backed by Stripe). Thank you for enabling Apple Pay!
So this review is for a Takealot or MRD delivery guy. He went above and beyond to get my parcel to me and no one has come close to this service. His name is Kevin Reddy, delivering in Alberton (and I guess Johannesburg) surrounding areas. Thanks so much!
Forcing a R25 monthly fee for inactive accounts and forcing people to deposit monthly. This was poorly communicated and doesn't make sense. - On a podcast Charles said they need money to support the system/infrastructure and costs. You just added more strain to the system by implementing this. - If you do not have free cash, you have time to pay the accumulated amount. If you still cannot pay after a few months they just sell whatever shares are in your profile (This is the main problem with me) To get rid of the R25/month fee you have to regularly deposit each month and never withdraw (so dumb). For example you can EFT R1 a month and never withdraw out money to not pay that fee. I still feel like that's adding strain as "dormant" or "irregular" deposits cause less strain on a system. Think about it, hundreds of thousands of people are now putting in low amounts and your system has to allocate the funds to the right accounts etc and allocate it. I feel they doing this to get cashflow as it would most likely sit in "free cash" on everyone's account. Overall it was handled very poorly and really not a smart move at all. As a (ex)shareholder I didn't get to vote or voice my concerns about this move which is a huge move. Anyway, I can go on. I'm not happy, everyone else isn't happy just read all the reviews here. You're bleeding customers now.
Their after-sales service and delivery is terrible. They charge extra for 'priority delivery/next day' and still nothing. I also had received an already expired product on my previous order. It took them two weeks to confirm collection, stock in their warehouse. Check your expiry dates on all products received. I'm very reluctant to buy from them again, long-time customer but something is different now.
Our nearly R10,000 pram (Bug 3-in-1) wheel alignment was out (never used). Sent it back to fix it, no difference the actual wheels are oval and expected to be a much smoother . Hoping it’ll come right over time, build quality is that of a no-name brand. Get a different brand if that’s your budget.
