This company got one star from me, because I couldn't give them nothing. I don't have words to describe this company. So I am just going to tell you the story, starting with comprehensive background information. X's late father (hereafter referred to as he/him/his) worked for a mining company, whose pension and related affairs are handled by this company, before he retired. A while after his wife passed away, he married Y. After about 6-7 years of marriage to Y, he asked X come and take him off the farm where he they stayed with Y's children and grandchildren. In about the last 2 years of staying on the farm, Y started revealing her true colours and her real intentions of the marriage started to come out. Firstly, she pushed him and he fell and broke his hip. She also kept him in a trans, by giving him all sorts of medicine, to (by the looks of it) keep him sort of in a trance, so he didn't know what he was doing. While in such a state, she got access to his banking details. She (and/or her children) took out a high 5-figure loan in his name, for reasons unknown - he didn't get any benefit from this loan. She (and/or her children and grandchildren) took out cell phone contracts on his name and upgraded them regularly, leaving him with an old phone with a cracked screen. She was also making plans to giving him rat poison, to speed up him dying, because it wasn't happening soon enough, so she could get his pension, as well as the benefits, of what seems to be a life insurance policy (from here on called the "policy") he had. X has proof of these (what you might call) "allegations". Eventually things got so bad, that he asked X to come and take him off the farm. When X went to fetch him from the farm, she got a nurse to take care of him privately. Shortly afterwards, Y submitted divorce papers, but she soon decided to withdraw them, because she she knew that she would not get anything, if she would divorce him. After about 8 months the nurse started complaining about back aches and she couldn't take care of him anymore. She was over 70 already. After collaboration and discussions between X, her brother and her sisters, they decided that it would be best, to take him to a frail care centre. Since X was staying the closest to him, she took it on her to make the necessary arrangements. The frail care centre she decided on to take him to, wanted a doctor's note stating his health condition, before he could be admitted. Therefore X then took him to see a doctor for an examination. The doctor's findings did not mention any health problems like Alzheimer's disease, simply because he didn't suffer from it. The doctor actually said that he was very healthy for his age. On the other hand, Y claimed that he had Alzheimer's disease - therefore (I guess) all the medicines she gave him. While still on the farm, Y brainwashed him with bad perceptions of what he was going experience, while being at a frail care centre - rotten food, physical abuse, uncomfortable beds, etc, etc, etc. Because of that, he didn't want to go into frail care, but after being admitted, his physical condition actually improved. He was gaining weight and te did not need to take any medicines, except for a headache pill once in a while. After about a year in frail care and because he still didn't want to be there, he decided to basically stop eating anything, except for yogurt and porridge. This caused his health to deteriorate. He would have divorced Y, but at that stage, he was not healthy enough, to go and attend the court proceedings. While being in the frail care centre and still being alive, he wanted to change the beneficiaries of the policy he had with this retirement fund. This required forms to be populated, which was done in the presence of an commissioner of oath. After completion, the forms were submitted to the this company and it was accepted. Several months later, he passed away. Now for the issue I have with this company. Now that he passed away, this company does not want to honour the changes he made, to the beneficiaries on the policy. Instead, they want to pay out the funds to Y, from whom he was separated for more than 2 years, because they seem to have some kind of policy rule, that states something like the deceased's spouse must receive the funds from the policy, immaterial of who the beneficiaries are, that he nominated before his death. This means that this company wants to pay out the money, to 1) the person who de*****ed him out of thousands of rands (the loan and cell phone contracts); 2)the person who caused him physical harm (broken hip); 3) the person, who was planning to kill him. Yes, this company wants to compensate this person, after everything she did with and wanted to do to him. Worse of all is, that this company knows all about everything stated above and they STILL want to continue with the pay-out to Y. This makes me want to vomit in disgust!!! I am not saying that only the nominated beneficiaries should receive the pay-out, but sure as hell, Y doesn't deserve a single cent from it.
I have been making use of SweepSouth now for a year and 9 months. It was very easy to make the original recurring bookings and I got the assistance I expected of such a company, when I wanted to make changes. However, their website sometimes does seem to be quite slow, which is a bit irritating. Therefore, as far as their website is concerned, there is room for improvement. The agents I have dealt with in the past when needed, was very professional. I have always been treated friendly and with respect, when I called them. Every time I had a problem, it was sorted out in now time. There was only one incident that occured on one of the bookings. My regular (as they call them) SweepStar, could not honour the booking. I called SweepSouth and brought this to their attention and a replacement was provided immediately. The replacement couldn't be at my place at the regular time - she was about 30 - 45 minutes late - but that is quite understandable, taking the short timeframe to make the necessary arrangements into consideration. My regular SweepStar - and the replacements I had, when she was not available - is reliable, honest, open and trustworthy. I can leave my residence and go and do shopping and when I get back, she would still be there, continuing her work as usual when I am there. Once she accidentally broke something broke. She didn't keep silent and just threw it away. Instead, she brought the broken pieces to me and told me what happened. Over all, I am very satisfied with the service I get from SweepSouth, which makes them a company I can strongly recommend to new potential customers. If you need cleaning services for your home or business, make use of SweepSouth. You will not regret it.
We had a bath and a shower in our second bathroom and we decided to throw out the bath and have a step installed, where we could put our washing machine and tumble drier, which were taking up too much space elsewhere in our apartment. Johan, the owner, came out and gave us a quote. We agreed upon a start date and time and Johan's team got here about half an hour earlier. They started immediately. We have no words to describe, just how satisfied we are, with what they did and how they did it. It took our breath away. THe work was done professionally, efficiently and excellently. We couldn't ask for anything more. (Unfortunately, we couldn't find tiles that exactly matched the rest of the bathroom and had to settle for second best, but that has nothing to do, with how the work was done.) Thank you so much B&K Maintenance, for a job done perfectly.
Where shall I begin? I bought a TV stand from this company, via Takealot. Everything looked so nice and the price, was quite good, but then, my parcell arrived. Firstly, the assembly chart does not match the parts that should go together. Certain parts that are supposed to go together on the assembly chart, are mixed up, when it comes to the actual assembly. Secondly, the manufacturer should have drilled ALL the holes required, to assemble the whole unit. LEt me explain. I do not having experience in hanging doors using these new type of hinges and battled to get the doors hung. They eventually do align 100%. Thirdly, the doors of the stand, swings too far inwards. This problem can be overcome, by magnets, onto which the doors can close, but they only supp**** one magnet and one metal plate, that goes on one of the doors. Therefore, the door that does not get a magnet, is still swinging in too far. I have contacted them now and the assistant said I should mount the magnet between the two doors, so it can stop both doors, from swinging in too far. Logically spoke, I should then cut the metal strip in half and fit the two pieces on the doors. Duh!!! Fourthly, the unit comprises of two parts, that can slide in and out, to expand the stand - make it longer - or to make it shorter. There is nothing that prevents the paper thin layers that the unit are covered with, from picking up scratches and even tears, when expanding or compacting the unit. Fifthly, the whole thing sags in the middle. I had to put spacers under the feet, to try to get it sort of level. Conclusion: Even though the unit looks very nice on the pictures on Takealot, I am very disappointed in the end. After reading the reviews of Artisan Furniture I will definitely not purchase anything, even on Takealot, that has been supp**** by them.
This is actually not a review, but a message to everyone, who wrote a review about this company, especially the people whowho wrote negative reviews about eDreams. I am really sorry that you had such terrible experiences, in dealing with them and I wish you all the best, in your efforts to make them pay. I nearly booked flights on their website, but luckily, I decided to read some reviews first. Thanks to your reviews, it was an easy decision to make, NOT to deal with these ******.
On 2020/08/08 I bought a new battery for my car at Battery Centre and I paid R 3 971,16. Yesterday (2025/04/29) I had a problem with my car and took it in for repairs. I was told that my car's battery needs replacement (which was fine with me. The repair shop got me a new battery and I had to pay R 2760.00 for it. This is a difference of more than R 1 200.00 cheaper and 4 years, 8 months and 3 weeks later. I am not saying anything further. It is up to you to decide if you want to keep on supporting Battery Centre.
MetroFibre is a very reliable network provider. I have started with a 20meg fibre line, that has been increased a while back to a 25meg, fibre line in my home. I have only had a problem with my router once, since installation in June 2020 and they were quick and efficient to respond and fix the problem. From time to time, when they do maintenance on the network, I am notified about the possible downtime, even though I have never been affected by it. It always starts very late in the evening and ends before I wake up in the morning. During these times, I am normally asleep and most of the time, the specific area I am staying in, is not affected at all. Whenever I had to deal with MF, the agent I spoke to was polite, friendly and very helpful. As far as I am concerned, MF is best fibre service provider... and I have worked for a company, that provides the same type of service.
I have been shopping at PnP, my whole life and have spent thousands of rands at various stores over the years. Lately, however, I have found that the local store in Dooringkloof, sadly does not provide the service I got used to. I have visited this over the past 4 weeks, looking for a specific item, I used to purchase from them, but they did not have any in stock. I even discussed the matter with one of the managers at the store, who claimed that the supplier cannot provide them, because they are out of stock. I called the store this morning, to find out if they have received the item yet. The woman who answered my call, said that she first has to go and check. and she promised to call me back. That was more than half an hour ago and I am still waiting. Since PnP does not have the item in stock, I took a chance and went to a the Checkers store at Jean Crossing and guess what. They had 10 bottles of the applicable item on the shelf that was manufactured during February of this year. Needless to say, I purchased all 10 of them. Was the manager at PnP Dooringkloof lying to me, or doesn't he (and/or his collegues) ensure that stocks are replenished, before the store runs out? Should I look out for a new grocery store?
1) Outside walls not evenly pely painted and paint is pealing in places. 2) Running shoes in sink outside our door. 3) No seating or table in court outside our room. 4) Sealing of our room us corrigated iron. 5) Taps of the basin in bathroom are loose. 6) One of the pannels of the shower's sliding doors is missing. Counter top on which the kettle is standing, is too low for the fridge to stand under. This results in fridge preventing the one cupboard door from opening properly. 7) We waited for morethan 45 minutes for our food fo arrive, on our first evening's supper and we only ordered boerewors and russian, both with chips. In short, City Lodge Botique Hotel falls way short, of what I expected, for the price I paid. I expected a lot more. The only positive, is that the staff was friendly, but friendliness costs nothing.
I bought brown bread on 24-08-2024 at PnP Dooringkloof. Some of the cut slices inside the bread, did not have a middle, but only a crust. This means that some places, the bread was hollow inside. This leaves much to be desired, about Sasko's quality control. How do I take a bread back to the outlet, to give them proof of what I am saying. What are the chances of taking a bread off the shelf, that has the same problem? Chances are that I will not easily find another bread like the one I got.
