I ordered a First Dutch Brands pedal bin from Takealot, which was advertised as stainless steel, after my Brabantia bin of 22 years finally needed replacing. I cleaned the exterior with a wet cloth, exactly as I had done for over two decades with my Brabantia stainless steel bin. However, I immediately noticed that the streak marks left by the water on the sponge did not disappear. This raised serious concerns about whether the product was in fact stainless steel as advertised. I logged a return on the basis that the item was not as described. The response I received was: “Unfortunately, we cannot accept your return request as the item has been used. Item dirty, cx may have used a wrong chemical or detergent. Our returns policy states that a return can only be accepted if the item is unused.” This is completely inaccurate. I did not use any detergent or chemicals, only water, and the visible streaking clearly demonstrates that the material is not stainless steel as advertised. Cleaning a newly purchased bin with water does not constitute “use” in any reasonable sense, especially when the issue relates directly to the product’s material and quality. The bin was sent back to me without a refund, which I find extremely unfair. I explained my position clearly, yet the matter was dismissed without proper consideration. I would not recommend purchasing a “stainless steel” bin from Takealot if this is how misleading advertising and legitimate return concerns are handled. Very disappointing experience.
I ordered a birthday present for my daughter. Paid the customs duty and according to GFS Express, my delivery was scheduled for today, 20 Feb 2026. I tracked the packaged throughout the day and then received a WA notification saying the package had been delivered earlier in the day, which isnt the case. Please can GFS Express explain what the point is of sending a PIN to the receiver, stating that the order will only be handed over upon confirmation of this PIN, if they apparently deliver packages without this PIN??! Absolutely shocking. Would not recommend this courier company. Extremely disappointed that i waited this long for my daughters gift, only for it not to be delivered. The courier had ONE job, to deliver they package, and they miserably failed!
I placed an order with Builders Warehouse on 16 November, which was shipped directly from their supplier, Decorland. After repeated delivery promises from their courier, RAM Hand-to-Hand Couriers, I only received the parcel on 28 November—nearly two weeks later and after a great deal of unnecessary frustration. To make matters worse, the order arrived incomplete. Given the poor communication, delays, and overall lack of service from both Decorland and their courier, I cannot recommend this company. The experience has been deeply disappointing.
Worst courier service ever. Empty promises and no delivery. When trying to contact them via their WA channel, I get a repeat of messages saying "We are sorry. This chat has reached its time limit". When I request for a call back, I get no response. When I contact the Online Fulfilment Clerk, Makalo Nkiane from Builders Warehouse, through whom I placed the order, I get anxious error response saying "The recipient's mailbox is full and can't accept messages now". If you can, avoid Ram Couriers at all costs.
Do not use Makro online. They cancelled my order without any notification or a suggested replacement and then marked the sale item back to full price. I reordered something similar, order status showed it as delivered, but there was no delivery of my order. Terrible service..
I'm only rating it a 1 star because there is no option for a -10 rating. I cannot begin to explain the trauma Group 1 Auto Stellenbosch put me through and I don't think there's enough space on here. The took the pleasure of me buying my very first car and turned it into a living nightmare. I wish I'd taken the time to review the dealership first because I would NEVER have set foot in that dealership. A day after purchasing my car I reported an unusually loud sound coming from the car and when they eventually fetched the car, the problem which was never resolved, it went from one lie to the next and countless empty promises. Not one phone call from the DP Len, despite threats that he would call. Two months passed and still no feedback on my car. I eventually had to buy a more expensive car on the principle that the dealer, George Nowers, who offer me a better deal. Another lie. I finally was able to fetch the car in Stellenbosch two months after the original purchase and now am still waiting on the car to be registered, which I was told would be done ages ago. The licence is now expired and still I wait. WORST EXPERIENCE BUYING A CAR. WILL NOT RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE EVEN IF MY LIFE DEPENDED ON IT!!!
I had quite a complicated situation, but King Price offered me great options and great solutions. Received great service from Thabang Mahlangu, who was friendly, professional, and well-informed.
So my rating went from a 1 star, for good communication to an overall 5 star rating. I received my order and was disappointed to find out that I'd been sent a generic product instead of the original Apple product that I'd paid for. I naturally assumed that I'd been ****med and immediately sent them an email explaining my disappointment. I received a phone call from Sean within minutes and he was absolutely amazing. He arranged to overnight the correct item to me and collected the item that had been sent to me in error. I really appreciate this level of customer service. Well done to Sean and the team at Apple Café for turning my frown upside down! I will definitely order from this company again.
A massive thank you to Carmelita at Flook for making my customer experience an absolutely amazing one! I'd placed two separate orders on two seperate days. The order that I placed first was urgent and according to the courier, would be delivered well ahead of time. I'd waited patiently all day on the day my order was scheduled to arrive only to discover that afternoon that the courier decided to hold back my first order so that they could deliver it together with my second order. This meant that my urgent order would not arrive in time. I immediately emailed Customer Support at Flook and was contacted by Carmelita, who apologized for the confusion and told me that they happened to have the exact same item that I'd ordered at their offices and that I could collect it directly from them that day. Carmelita went above and beyond to ensure that I was happy and also immediately issued me with a refund for the delivery fee that I paid when placing my order. I am super impressed with this level of customer service and would highly recommend Flook after this positive experience!
Can someone at Takealot please explain to me how your drivers NEVER find my address, despite the fact that I put my GPS coordinates in my delivery address. My request for the driver to contact me before delivery is always ignored. How is it that my package is always signed for by "me", but yet never delivered to me?? Is it not the couriers job to ensure that he is delivering to the correct address and to the correct recipient? I mean, is that not his ONLY job, ensuring delivery? Even worse is the person who is signing for a package that they have not ordered and that does not belong to them? Should they not at least be honest enough to admit that the particulars on the box is not theirs??? I am so frustrated and so annoyed. What's the point in paying the delivery fee? I now have to opt to collect even when I qualify for free delivery. This is just unacceptable. Once again I have to try and recover an urgent delivery that was apparently delivered to the wrong address within days of the sane thing happening and me asking that they PLEASE instruct the driver to contact me to make sure that he is delivering my order to me. Come on Takealot, this is not brain surgery. Can you at least get the delivery part right?! Very, very frustrated customer!
