POPI Act violation. This company stores and sells your private personal information without consent. When contacted they avoid and obfuscate endlessly, but the point is I DID NOT GIVE MY CONSENT.
I ordered a CANON printer on Makro, as part of a promotion (more4less), which was advertised as including free Canon photo paper. However, I was charged for the photo paper. I have sent a daily e-mail to all of the listed customer service e-mails, asking for a refund of the photo paper I was incorrectly charged for, but have not received any response. It has been a week now.
I ordered filament light bulbs online, when I arrived to collect them, they looked nothing like the picture. They tried to convince me repeatedly that I was wrong for expecting the item to look like what I ordered. Go figure. They did offer to refund me, but there was no apology for wasting my time in driving there, or no acknowledgement of their false advertising. The manager told me the product I want does not exist. They tried to use all sorts of ridiculous excuses, such as that the filament is INSIDE - and the picture only shows you what the inside looks like. REALLY?!? Why not just admit that your advert is wrong, apologise, and try to make it right, by offering your customer an alternative that looks like what I wanted (because I did see them on the shelf - but at a higher price) I am often surprised by companies willing to spend millions on advertising campaigns to get new customers, instead of just making sure their existing customers are well served. An apology is free, guys. If you made a mistake, own up to it. But don't try to make your customer look like an idiot for believing what they receive will match the picture on your website!
I ordered an Amazon Fire TV Stick and received a GREY IMPORT (the device has a sticker saying it's a grey import and has an American plug). This was not indicated on the website at any point. I have been struggling for weeks to get my money back as this is not what I ordered. Surely they must warn on the website that they sell grey imports?
Products are well-priced, items were available for collection within a few hours after placing my order. Items packed well and of a good quality. I'm happy :)
<div>1) They sent me a VAT invoice containing an invalid VAT number (this is a fact, confirmed by SARS). 2) The company number as on the invoice does not exist (this is a fact, confirmed by CIPC). 3) The physical address on their website, and on the invoice, are different. Hello Peter keeps removing my review as containing inappropriate wording. The above are independently verifiable FACTS. Draw your own conclusions.</div>
I ordered a product which was not what I expected and they refunded me in full with no hassle.
I am concerned this may be a scam. The VAT number on the invoice they sent me is invalid - I checked it using two different methods. After requesting them to furnish me with an original SARS document proving their VAT registration, as well as banking confirmation from their bankers, so that I could make payment, I never heard from them again. (These are quite normal requests between businesses and no reason for them to withhold this information.) This makes me really concerned that this is a scam. I am happy to update my review if I am proven wrong, but for now I would say, beware.
Axxess provided me with a faulty simcard. It took multiple back and forth e-mails over the span of 2 weeks, to get them to replace the simcard, after which I finally had internet. They have however refused to refund me pro-rata for these 2 weeks that I had no access to their network, which was entirely due to their faulty simcard. This, combined with the fact that it was so painful and took so incredibly long to get any real help out of them, is why I cannot recommend anyone to take up LTE internet with Axxess.
Absolutely horrible service (or rather lack thereof) from SkyNet. I ordered something before Black Friday (i.e. before the couriers could use the excuse of increased volumes for bad service) and more than two weeks later, I have not yet received it. Despite the online tracking stating that it was collected, and my providing them with a signed SkyNet Proof of collection from the merchant, they now claim they never even received the package. I understand mistakes happen, but I am yet to be contacted by a human, explaining what happened, and what will be done to fix it.
