Secure chat useless
secure chat is absolutely useless. Long waiting times: by the time I get a response, I'm logged out. When I get transferred to a different person, that person does not read the previous messages. Absolutely terrible. I've given this feedback nor for 3 years but it falls on deaf ears

Telkom

Telkom, an organisation with the same accounting dept of 50yrs ago
I have an LTE contract for many years which is paid by debit order. I simply want to change bank accounts. So i go into a branch with my ID (I've been told the previous time they do not accept a copy on my phone). This time, I've been told they need 3 month's statements!!! So I would have to go a 3rd time to the branch. I also feel they've got no business on knowing how much money there is on my bank account. Proof of banking, I can understand. Telkom is totally outdated in their procedures. Con'on guys try to keep up with modern technology in your accounting dept. I've got an old landline (like from 25 years ago) tied to my name which I tried to remove several times, but their procedures make it unreasonably difficult to do so. So I leave it...databases growing...old leaves on the pavement

Broken promises
I placed an order for an OBD scanner for my car which is standing at a repair shop. I paid R75 extra for urgent delivery. I expected the unit yesterday. Today I get a message the unit will be delivered next Monday. I'm very upset. Not only will I certainly nOT have a car for the next couple of days, Takealot is also wastign my time writing a complaint. They also hide their contact details on the website and on FB to try and talk to someone. By the time I've written this complaint, I will have wasted a full hour.

JJR MOTORS

****** motorbike
They allowed my BMW R1200GS to be ****** from their showroom area. A person shows up for a test ride. They didn't keep his car keys as I instructed them, they didn't take a copy of his drivers licence or ID. The person arrived in a car with a trailer and a driver, he didn't bring a helmet. That is serious negligence for lack of a stronger word.

complete disaster
I phoned 5x, no answer. Send 8 emails *** no response. How does one try to sort out a dispute. Do officials get paid without being in the office? Why do they have an emails address which contains the words "customer care". It is a disgrace

don't give them a REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT
I paid a R5000 REFUNDABLE reservation deposit. 2 days later, wehn I decided I'm not purchasing the vehicle, they are giving me trouble to refund me. They seemingly are NOT able to refund on the same credit card which I used for payment. To me, that has got nothing to do with can or can't but management policy for some reason. I then provided a cheque account number, proof of banking details. Then they request a copy of my ID as well. I have been a victim of identity theft, so I'm extremely cautious to provide such information. I provided them with pic of my ID which I duly painted and wrote the letters 'COPY' on it. They now say this is not acceptable!!! Are they trying to ***** my money?

no backup service
I purchased a 2-plate SUNBEAM induction cooker. The unit generates way too much power, even on the lowest setting. I'm an electronics engineer and have proofed to them it generates about 8x the power it should on the low setting (400W vs 50W). This is despite the user manual claiming one can use the low setting for simmering, keep warm and even melt chocolate. I get no response. Typical of companies who import cheap products from China. I know for a fact, this is a simple firmware fault. They claim I'm the first person complaining about this. Maybe I'm the first person to try and keep a sauce warm???

FNB client service becoming less like gradually boiling a frog in water
FNB has reduced branches, has invested heavily on IT services. However, whenever I need help (which is maybe 3 to 5x per annum), I'm left in the dark. I've tried the secure chat service a few times already, each time WITHOUT a solution. The service is absolutely useless FNB. Please take note. Have a look at Alibaba...they have an excellent chat service. If I need to wait 2 to 5min for a response and I get logged out each time...that's pretty useless. So IT 'services' UP but client service DOWN for sure.

Duram Smart Paint

Making claims without evidence
Duram is a leader in roof paints. They claim their Cooltech paint reduces heat in the house by reflecting light. However when I ask for data on what the expected temperature difference is at the bottom of a steel roof structure, they can't answer me. I have done the experiment myself coating a dark green roof with silver reflective paint and I measure a reduction from 54deg to 42deg. A simple experiment to do. I shared this with Duram. Is it reasonable for a prominent roof paint supplier to NOT have such data? My opinion: it is not. Claims must be substantiated with data and measurements. I even suggested to them I will do the experiment on their behalf but I got no response. Are customers in SA reasonably protected from manufacturers making claims without substantial data or evidence? Obviously, we are not.

Makro online, you rock!
I've placed a few orders already and I get exactly what was advertised a few days later. The average service in SA is so bad that 'normal' service needs to be commended.
