It seems that Takealot is already bucking under pressure from competitors. I ordered a device from them, it did not work. I requested a replacement. I was instead refunded. Trying to buy the same device, the price doubled. I'm so glad Amazon will be the replacement for this useless bunch.
I have been a client for more than 10 years, and I can honestly recommend Chantel and her team. Insurance is like a parachute; you trust it will work until you rip the cord and it doesn't. I have had a few incidents over the past decade, my last slip of stupidity was my fault. Using a Nothing (1), which is as scarce as it gets, slipped out of my pocket while we were shopping late at night. As I drove around the block and my vehicle told me "Bluetooth disconnected", and I realised my phone was not with me, that cold feeling of dread set in. All my cards, licenses and accounts are on that phone. Not something I can afford to lose. I turned back and was fortunate to find where my phone had fallen out of my pocket, but it was too late. I reversed over my phone. Trying to get someone to repair the screen failed until someone suggested trying Vodacom. Well they quoted over 14k in damages just for a screen replacement. I contacted Chantel about my stupid mistake and they fixed it! That level of service is what is missing with most other places. You cannot go wrong with Chantel. After moving down to Cape Town, I still use them and I cannot fault them on what they do. Keep up the great work.
I have been with Discovery for years, over the last couple of years their level of service has fallen to that of a state-owned entity. I noticed that my medical aid has become nothing but a monthly handout for absolutely nothing in return. My chronic meds are not covered, then after my doctor sends me to a specialist to solve an issue, that is not covered, my doctor is not covered because she is not one of their "network" doctors. I am really trying to figure out why I have not moved to another medical aid yet. I eventually found a number for one of their agents, I could not believe the lack of help they offer to solve a problem, it seems the moment you move off the script they recite and there are no responses for them to read, the awkward silence will hit and you will realise why this medical aid is just that useless.
After momentum lost the plot and wanted to increase my premium with a ludicrous amount I decided to move my insurance. Sadly after moving Momentum did not quite get the message, they still have the ***** to deduct their premium. Come on guys, we know you are lost don't give me more ammunition.
I received an email from Discovery to ask if I am still on my chronic medication. This is from the same medical aid that is happily deducting the funds for my medication from my medical savings account, so they know what medication I am on, they have just not been paying for my chronic medication. After sending an email and receiving no feedback I am seriously considering what my other options are.
When I pay a premium for a service I expect not to be spammed. This is something Vodacom does not seem to understand. After following a link where you can disable the spam it also states it might result in the termination of your line. Does anyone know if there is a legit way to get rid of their intrusive spam?
When I ask that my number gets removed, and they still keep phoning in products that I am not interested how many times do you have to say please remove my number? The POPI Act is a joke it does not work and this company certainly does not care. So please send me their compliance officer's details so I can contact him directly.
It is a sure pity that I cannot give less than one star, one star is still too much for this so-called provider. I was one of the lucky ones to get VUMA a few years ago in JHB, and I never really had massive issues. Since I moved to CPT and was forced to be on FrogFoot I have been without internet intermittently for days since I got here about a year ago. My ISP is quite useless in solving or relaying the issues. So I am done with Frogfoot and WebAfrica, now again completely down. My ISP is useless in figuring out Frogfoot is the problem. They are a match made in heaven and they can crash the same way every state-owned government entity is crashing. So do yourself a favour and get ANY other ISP and provider, and you should be fine.
After spending quite some time and money with WebAfrica I can honestly say it is the worst ISP by far, I have never had service this horrible by ANY South African company, and that is setting the bar quite low. Seeing that moving my line is too difficult to do, and cancelling my line is too expensive, I wanted to downgrade my line, which your staff is too incompetent to do as well. So now I will wait to see what happens and just promote the good name of Web Africa as far as I go.
Having used Checkers 60 in JHB before I could honestly not complain, sure sometimes they are 15 to 20 minutes late but no issue. Having moved down to Stellenbosch I decided to give it a go today, 12h37 I do my payment, delivery ETA 13h36. 13h29 I get a notification they are running a tad late and will be there by 14h06. 15h22 I get a notification the driver is outside. I have a clear view of the road there is no one there. I go outside take a walk around and still no driver in sight. 15h58 I see the order is cancelled because I was not home, strange as I am working from home. Their customer department was equally futile so if anyone is aware of any other possible place to step up, now would be it.
