We visited Schoongezicht Paarl on Sunday for Father's day. They had a special rate which I did not have a problem with, but one would think that one would get value for money. First of all the restaurant was supposed to open at 12, but they only allowed people in at 12:25, We did not enjoy the food it was appallingly bad, The clean plates and cutlery was placed underneath the bakeries. So when one needs a clean plate and cutlery you literally have to bend and find your way amongst people that's busy dishing, the Veg soup was served cold, the beef was so tough with a bland taste, sweet potatoes had a terrible after taste. I called the manager/supervisor Jamie and told her how disappointed I am and she said that she'll have a chat with the chefs. I think that was just said for the sake of giving a response to my complaint.We stayed for an hour and left. I feel robbed because we paid full price and didn't finish anything that we dished besides the sago pudding we had. I feel robbed and told the manager that I will never return and will not recommend anyone to visit their restaurant.

On the 16 Sept 2018 My self and family visited Schoongezicht for my daughters 21st birthday. I have been there 3 times before and my experience was great. I love the food and the staff are very friendly and efficient. On this particular day my aunt fainted because she was standing to long in the sun. On of the staff members, I did not get his name, heard about what was happening and rushed out to help. We did not know what was wrong but he immediately arranged for a wheel chair and then pushed my aunt in the shade. He arranged water and then some coke and felt her temperature. He knew exactly what to do. My aunt was fine in a few mins. Unfortunately I did not get his name but I am so gratefully for his support. I love going to Schoongezicht and have and will continue to recommend their establishment to the whole world. Thank you.....

i never want to go to that place again. First with the booking the lady at the restaurant could not confirm that the place will be open on that specific day but she took my details and made the booking anyway. A day before my mom's birthday she phoned me and wanted to know if we could not move the party to Brackenfell branch for a lower rate. On which I replied that my parents are elderly people. The day of the party I was so embarrassed when the sushi bowl were only filled up twice with 10 pieces on an occasion. After that no more fill ups. The food tasted like last week Sunday's food. What horrible food to give to people who celebrates. Bad memories is all I have of that place.

<p> So I made a booking in all deperation as My Mother wanted to celebrate her 70th birthday at a restuarant. Needless to say I am still waiting on Karrien to forward an invoice through to me. My total disgust was that we were forced to pay 50% (R92.50) for a 4 year old and a 6 year old. REally, what could these two toddlers really eat that amounts to that!</p> <p>a 10% gratuity was added on without asking us anything. Christian the waiter only got us 3 jugs of juice.....and that was it! he mentioned that we could eat from the starters and that the main course and desserts will se brought upstairs (as we were seated upstairs) replenished. Luckily my brother went downstairs to where all the foods were. Till the time we left we were still waiting on someone to replenish the warmers upstairs! No last rounds were called, no communication that the mains are ready or anything! And...they pack away the food so quickly. If you paying that price then at least the food meeds to be ready for the complete 3 hours that you are there! I think this was just a total rip off.</p> <p>They messed up with my wedding a few years ago.....and I left it-but ****it!!!</p> <p>8 years later and surely thry are just after the money! What ever happened to client service...Some people go hungry and here yuou pay for food, which the restuarant only allows yuou to eat from for an hour!!! The Dros is cheaper, excellent food and good quality service! If only they had an opening......</p>

So after the long drive from Cape Town to Paarl , wow what a disappointment, from start to end we came to this branch for my moms 50th and grans 91 birthday party, firstly the waiter only informed one of the guest of the times , we where brought the wrong wine, we had our starters when we where done we whr relaxing , talking not once did the waiter inform us about last rounds , after we eventually went to eat there was hardly any food , when we asked the lady are they removing the food she said yes , then I called the rest of my family to dish they came then while my pregnant sister was dishing the kitchen manager said abruptly that she must put her plate down cause the time is up , she said that she will tell the manager and the lady said she is the manager , after we came to sit down the lady that said we couldn't dish allowed other people to dish , I was so furious that and went to the reception to ask for the mangers name , the manger came and apologised she said that she was sorry and the kitchen manager , I just feel that we should have not been treated like that we where paying customers just like everyone else. We did not enjoy our visit at all!!!#servicesucks

In February 2015 we called the above establishments requesting information and cost in booking the venue for my mother\s 80th birthday celebration. We were then informed that they could possibly have a price increase and that we should contact them towards the end of March. Being very anxious about the possibility of things not going entirely smoothly
