I was a tenant with Seeff Strand for over 2 years. Despite leaving the property in good condition, they are ********ly withholding my double deposit. The Rental Housing Act clearly states it must be paid back within 7 days, yet I`m met with endless excuses and no resolution. Their client services are unprofessional and dismissive. Once you sign with them, the treatment changes completely, from helpful to careless. I strongly advise others to stay away from Seeff Strand and certain Agents QG, LN

Definitely had an experience I will never forget with seeff agent, Laetitia Du Plesis and STBB lawyers. I was the purchaser of what seemed like a beautiful home and at a bargain! (a fact of which I was reminded) I was asked if the sellers could stay on after the place was in my name, and I hesitantly agreed, and honestly wish I would have pushed harder to not let them stay on. But I felt pressured by both the agent and the lawyers(STBB). The place I got after the sellers moved out was left in a terrible state. Dog feaces of what looked like months had been piled up and left to rot in the yard. Inside the property itself was left very dirty and many doors was broken. The fact that anyone would think that this is an acceptable way to hand over a property, and this after I had essentially done them a favor by having them stay on. I confirmed more than once time and date when they would be moving out, as I put things in place to ensure that place does not stand empty. But sellers made changes to their date on minute 99,and property was left empty for a few hours, in which it was broken into and taps, basins and oven was ****** and broken, on top of everything else. I was told so many times I was "sweet" for letting the sellers stay on, and I guess no good deed goes unpunished. I have definitely learned my lesson about trying to be nice to accommodate others people's needs. If I am ever in the market to sell or purchase property, I will definitely not be using seeff Strand and STBB. Very very disappointed.

What a breath of Fresh air in the rental agency world. After a really bad experience with a different rental agency, I had a meeting with Quintus from Seeff Strand to look for another house to rent. The experience was so good, Quintus was extremely patient and helpful and made me and my family felt important to them. In record time Quintus find us the perfect home and we can't wait to move in. Thank you Seeff Strand, you are amazing and I will never rent through someone else again.

Excellent service from Chris Brand and Chrisna Meyer, Seeff Strand. They were alongside me all the way through to the SALE. Nothing was too much for them to assist with. I will definitely refer their Excellent service to anyone selling. Thank you again to the two of you. Best regards Trudy - Happy Seller!!

Sadly I am here again to review a business with poor service, poor ethic and questionable practices. In September 2022 I signed an offer to purchase a house in the Strand and unfortunately Seeff Strand had a Sole Mandate on the property and I was forced to handle to transaction via them. While I was quite sure with my choice Laetitia Du Plessis quickly got me to sign an offer with no record of approved plans for the property. When I questioned why the plans she sent me were not the approved plans, she could not give me a confident answer and was unsure if the plans needed to be approved or not. Despite this she advised me to go ahead with accepting the bond. The saga escalated to noting that the approved plans and the constructed house did not match as the seller constructed an ******** braai attached to the house. This resulted in the transfer being delayed until mid April of 2023 and to date I have not received an approved plan from Seeff. After moving in to the property, I noted that only 3/7 doors had keys to them despite the offer clearly stating that all internal and external keys were included. I proceeded to email Laetitia and only got a response 16 days later after 2 follow up emails and a phone call questioning if I would receive the keys. The response included that the seller could not be reached and advised that I change to locks on my cost. I requested that she send me correspondence of the request and to date my email has been ignored. I am not the first to have issues with Seeff Strand and the particular employee as I met a couple in the previous complex I stayed in who had endless headaches with the very same company and estate agent. I can only advise that you as a potential buyer or seller stay away from Seeff and their agents to avoid disappointment and lengthy turn around times. I recently saw that the estate agent handling my offer received a certificate of excellence despite the hardship this agents uninformed actions have caused me. Further supporting my advice to find different estate agents as they clearly do not know what they are doing.

I bought a property through Seeff Strand. On transfer of ownership I requested Seeff to do an inspection of the property to verify that the property is in the condition as in the Offer To Purchase (OTP). Seeff did this inspection and reported that all was clean and in order. (The OTP only identified one fault – a blocked drain) When I viewed the property about a month later (nobody had entered in that time) I found three faults: an aluminium framed glass door totally stuck, multiple Stalactites and stalagmites in a ba*****t garage indicating water seepage from the roof that has been going for a months as well as an open 220 Volt wall socket with live wires hanging from it. None of these faults were reported by Seeff from their last inspection. This matter was taken up through emails with Seeff local branch and Seeff management and a meeting with Seeff area manager. Generally Seeff focus was to blame the faults on others even though I only queried why faults were not reported. Eventually, in response to reason for not reporting, my understanding is that Seeff did not report these faults as it was not considered to be important or worth reporting. In the meeting Seeff did state that such service is not up to standard. However they charged me full commission for less than full service – no refund on poor service. I am shocked that Seeff could think that a life threatening open 220 Volt socket would not be important. I am wondering if this is the level of professional service that Seeff can offer?

We rented a semi-detached house in Strand, Western Cape through Seeff Strand. Our rental agent was Quintus Gerber. Although we only stayed for a year and 10 months we highly recommend Quintus. We found him to be an absolute gentleman and a professional. He is reliable, honest and delivers a high level of service consistently. Ingrid & Jakes
