Very dissatisfied client
Made use of this company and had damages to our flatscreen television, coffee table, painting and very sentimental cooking pot. The owner Justin is not cooperative and is very *************. Read through previous reviews and make an informed decision whether or not to use this company.

Smart Removals Poor Service
Used Smart Removals to relocate from Pinetown to Cape Town recently. On inspection we found damages & breakages. When we tried to address them, we received very unprofessional replies to our complaints. Furniture had been damaged & scratched. Glassware has been broken. A cast iron pot has been cracked & handle broken. Just begs the question of their handling of boxes. We are still unpacking boxes as the house we moved into is furnished & I guess we will find more damages as we continue. I won't recommend that you use this company. A very disappointing experience. We were planning to have a braai today only to discovered that the gas cylinder which was attached to the Gas Braai is missing. How disappointing.

Bully tactics
When you are not happy with his service Justin resorts to Gaslighting. He resorts to asking you over and over if your mind is ok. As the client he told me to go on antidepressants and asked me "What is wrong with your silly mind". This is young bully that is totally out of his depth in a service industry. He made up his own terms as the day progressed and ended up dumping the last load in my garage instead of carrying into the house. He went skydiving while his inexperienced staff did the work... noted when they wanted to carry the fridge upside down up the stairs. I came on Hello Peter to see if I was the only one... and as expected I am one of many.

Smart Removals thieving R2000 for no service rendered
I was extorted of R2000 by the owner of this Company. He did not lift a finger for the money apart from taking a few WA messages in an attempt to get a quote for his service. I send a deposit to secure a removal date that is a month away. When he decided he under quoted and wanted to double his quote I cancelled his service. He then refused to refund my deposit. He could not produce his company's terms and conditions and made it up as he went. Witholding R2000 of my deposit is extortionist. Do not trust any service provider that has not been referred by someone close to you. And definitely do not trust Smart removals despite the lovely website and 100% customer satisfaction statement. This customer is hugely disappointed.

Justin is rude and harassed me because I did not accept his quote
We requested quote from Justin for our move from Pretoria to Cape Town. He came in under budget and we were rather excited about that. Upon researching his company and finding the other bad reviews on here we decided that maybe going cheap is going to end up costing us a lot more later. We decided not to risk it and thanked him for his quote and told him we were going with someone else. He then proceeded to accuse me of being dodgy and from a rival moving company, wasting his time etc. I told him we were happy with his quite until we saw the bad reviews on here. He went on and on and on, I eventually had to block him on WhatsApp. Be wary when dealing with Justin.

Cancel last minute
We booked them for a very specific date to move our house content from Durban to Cape. We paid our deposit a week before the move. 2 days later we get a call stating they cant help us anymore. Paid our deposit back but because of late notice we had to scramble around to find another moving company. 1 available at R15 000 more and we had no choice but to pay it. Very disappointed in Smart Removals.

Cancel last minute

Smart Removals Sedgefield
I paid a deposit of 50% for a removal with a signed Quote for that particular day, and the day before phoned to confirm and pay final. I was informed that they had moved my date on as they thought I wanted to move it. They said that I had signed a new quote which I did not and they could not provide proof of it either. I realised then that they had double booked me and asked for my deposit back so i could make alternative arrangements. They refused to pay it back and said that I had cancelled , which i did not. Candice Potgieter and Justin have now refused to accept my letter of demand and do not want me to know their Domicilium in Sedgefield to hand deliver before I continue with small claims court. This is not the correct way to do legitimate business especially if you have made the mistake and not the client. I shall continue to pursue them in all avenues for the return of my hard earned money until I have received it . My advice is to be very careful with this company if dealing with them.

Paid, but they never delivered
I asked for something to be transported, I received a quote, I paid and they said that they will contact me a few days ahead of collection. Never heard from them again. A week before the item was supposed to be at the destination, I said that I am worried that it will not be collected and delivered in time. After days they replied and said that the courier will collect it. I never heard from them again. They ignore my emails, they refuse to pay my money back. I had to make a plan and transport it myself. It is theft and corruption to take money from customers but not deliver on their commitment.
