They just won't pay your money. The process of claiming the VAT at the airport is quite complicated in itself. My parent did manage to claim for a purchase and were informed that it could take up to 90 days to receive their refund of R10,067.40. The claim was done middle of March which means they should have expected the payment by mid-June. We are now in September and nobody returns my e-mails and there is no person you can call. Is this company ****ming SARS and foreigners?

Attempted to claim a VAT refund at ORT Airport on an invoice of R3499.00 (VAT portion R456.39) only to be told at the counter at the airport after security and passport control that no refunds are processed for VAT portion of the refunds below R500. YET the VAT for Tourists refunds site mentions cannot claim if the total invoice is under R250. Talk about FALSE ADVERTISING!!!

This is the most horible service in South Africa. They dont pay up, ignore our messages. I have emailed, called and sent whatsapp mesaages and texts but they dont respond. They simply blue tick and ignore. I filed for a claim last year July and till now after a year plus they havent paid up. They received our money from Sars a long time back and we even sent them our banking details but still they simply ignored. I dont know what to do anymore. This service looks like a **** and ran by *******.

This agency is useless. I submitted my claim approximately a year ago and have never received any feedback. I have had to make numerous calls to inquire about its status of my claim, but there were no updates on the portal. During one of my follow-up calls, I was informed that my claim had been rejected; however, when I requested an explanation, they were unable to provide one, then they say they cant assist me moving forward. It raises the question of the value of engaging them if they cannot offer a clear answer

I submitted my VAT refund application to the VRA in January 2024 and I was told that they take a month to do what they do before sending in the application to SARS. The VRA website claims that they are "dedicated to verifying that all the necessary conditions are met and guiding you through the VAT refund process" (hence the month of internal processing I would assume). Naturally I assumed that when they accepted my submission with no query then all necessary conditions had been met. I waited patiently until the 3 months that they promised the whole process would take was up, then I started following up. A dozen follow up phone calls, a few ignored emails and 6 months later, they tell me that my application had been declined because I submitted a copy instead of the original invoice. Something a quick check on their side by the team that is "dedicated to verifying that all the necessary conditions are met" would have picked up. What buffles me is why it took 9 months for them to tell me that my application could not go through because there was a copy instead of an original document. It sounds to me like they either had no idea what was going on with my application, had lost the application or something more sinister is going on over there. Would give them less than one star if it were possible.

This company is very ***********, I have been waiting for my VAT refund for over 12 months now but they are not helping me. I wonder what criteria was used to select this company to handle VAT claims on behalf of SARS because I am very sure there are more competent companies out there that could have been given this task.
