I spent the Christmas period with a very heavy heart due to an extremely disappointing experience with the VW Polokwane branch. On 09 December 2025, I took my vehicle to the VW Polokwane dealership for a routine oil service, unaware that this would result in significant issues. On the same day, while driving home after the service, the vehicle displayed an airbag error warning. I immediately pulled over and contacted the dealership. I was advised not to worry, as the issue was believed to have been caused by a jump start, and I was informed that the warning would simply need to be cleared. I was instructed to return the vehicle to the dealership. I continued driving home, and upon arrival, additional problems became apparent. The air conditioning system stopped working, the seatbelts no longer detected occupants when fastened, and the start-stop system began activating with warning sounds. The following Saturday, we returned the vehicle to the dealership, where we were advised to come back during the week. Upon contacting the dealership again, we were referred to the same representative who had initially assisted us. She indicated that Volkswagen was only aware of the airbag issue and stated that the additional errors were not the dealership’s responsibility. We were instructed to make another appointment for a diagnostic assessment, at our own cost. We proceeded to book the diagnostic appointment and paid the required fee. When we ask for the cause, they say airbag can trigger these errors . Following this assessment, we were informed that to repair a damaged component would cost approximately R15,000 as the first step, while the vehicle was in VW’s care. This experience has been extremely distressing and disappointing, particularly given that the vehicle was taken in for a standard service and returned with multiple faults that were not present beforehand.

Worst service ever!!! I bought a sump here and I was told it would take 3-5 days to be delivered. And I even told the lady that if I fix the sump I already have, I’d rather request a refund. I was told that due to the holidays, the refund might take long & I understood. On Monday I was supposed to sort out the cancellation & refund. I kept calling them the whole day, I kept leaving my details with people at vw there. They kept telling me that they will ask someone to call me back. It’s been 3 days now and nobody has phoned me back about my refund because I really don’t need the part anymore. This is the worst service ever!!

I took my car for a flying wheel replacement on Monday,26 August 2024,after the part had been ordered couple of months ago.During the process of repairs I was told that there are missing bolts and the car will be ready on Wednesday by noon. I called the service advisor in the morning and I was told that they are still working on the car with the anticipation that the car will be completed by end of business.Upon making several attempt to reach the service advisor with no avail,I finally managed to reach the customer service consultant and I was told that the technician is still working on the vehicle and it will be probably be fixed by Friday. The service I have received is pathetic especially with the money to be paid for the repairs. I have to constantly probe for feedback and inaccurate/untruthful feedback is provided.

I took my car for the service and repairs breaks and passenger window not working. They diagnosed my car and bought parts that calculated to 20k. I brought the car and they told me cartrack wires are interfering with the window motor, for 6 yrs I have been driving this car. I left without my car being fixed. When I brought the car for the second time, the service admin or whatever they call them said *he is not going to get himself into something he doesn't know, he was not here for the 1st time and I must pay 1.1k for diagnose again. I was taken to pillar and pose that, the motor I bought for 20k was given to me. I was told the service admin, technician who was helping me that time was on leave. Told them I need to talk to the manager so they can pull the surveillance for that day to show if the motor was given to me, now the manager is on leave as well. VW Polokwane is the worst, all I need from them is my money. And this doesn't end here I will get my money whether they like it or not.

I am writing this letter with disappointments about the service received from VW Polokwane. This actually started when I was taking my car for oil service and to fix petrol leakage late May or early June 2023. I was hardly updates on the progress and I was the who was phoning to track the progress. I will phone and not being successful to reach service supervisor (Jeff) and I was as well not sure if he was receiving my messages just decided not respond or not. I happen to escalate my disappointment to his line manager, that was when I was able to at least receive his call. The same weekend I received my car I experienced a tyres puncher and when I was trying to replace the tyre I could not find my lock nud from the boot of my car, surprisingly all the tòols were there apart one tool being lock nud. I requested my wife to go to the VW Polokwane as I was out of town about 60km away from Polokwane. My wife managed to get hold of Jeff after a serious struggle though he unable to resolve my problem. Service supervisor (Jeff) promised to check if my lock nud was part of the tools found inside the car during the period my car was in for service. To date I have not received any information regarding the lock nud, 3 wheels are still locked and 1 wheel is without it. I don't know what will happen to or my car if I get a puncher on 3 wheels still having lock nud.

I don't have a disliking to VW, but my advice is stay away from VW Polkwane. My son bought a polo tsi about 2 months ago and the vehicle went into limp mode, it was taken in to Lydenburg at which we were told it needed an upgrade - what brand new car needs an upgrade. After a huge amount of threats the Polokwane dealer phone and said he had found a replacement vehicle. My son went to collect the new vehicle only to find that it was not new at all of which I have photos as evidence, is it not bad enough that we need to deal with corruption in this country, now we have a supposedly reputable company doing this to a person. They should remove their adds on tv, as they definitely don't stand by you, but rather fu.... you. I will not rest until this has been brought to light.

ook my car to vw Polokwane as it had faulty warning.took them 3 weeks to fix it.got the car on Tuesday and Friday break pads were finished.took car back to vw and was told they don't have parts.they could not even help me with mobility as i had plans outside the province.VW does not take our safety serious how do they release a car without inspecting it?how is it that a car(1yr old) could have 1 breaking pad finished and others are fine?its not even a month since my first case with vw.their rude VW-SA case managers are even free to tell me they don't guarantee my mobility.and that they cant help me.what kind of service is this???
