Vw Hoopers Durban, really needs to up their game with their service advisors. I deal with a lady by the name of Dumi who never returns your calls, never updates you about your vehicle, and I had to escalate to the manager, and still nothing is done. Very poor service!

We purchased our Polo Vivo from Hoopers in 2023 brand new we where desperately and the sales Person assist us. I took my car in to have checked out because the Airbag light was not going off so I took it to Hoopers in Durban (Town) to have checked out. I made mentioned to the Service advisor that every time it rains water gets into the car and collects on the driver side floor only it was around March 2025 that I took the car in and there had been many days where the rain was quite heavy, so this ment that the water would take a long time to dry off leaving the car smelling really damp and sometimes unbearable. The "Service Manager" advised me that they checked the car and noticed that my oil filter was not a VW part and so for that reason my warranty could be canceled.....so I advised him that after my last 45000km service with VW I then took my car to Car Service City due to the extremely high prices from VW....car service city is an RMI approved repair center and used Approved parts to service my car. The Service Manager then instructed me that I am not allowed to used NONE VW parts when servicing my car to which I thought that very strange, I did my research and found that in fact I am allowed to take my car to any RMI approved worship for any repairs or service and the RMI approved worship used Approved parts in order to remain an RMI approved service provider. So the Hoopers Service Manager thought that I dont know anything about cars and warranties and made the statement that due to your warranty "potential" being null and void that i would have to pay for any work carried out to find out where this leak is coming from....and I said WOW!!! You got all that was just a oil filter....lol I said to the Service Manager please wait for me at your workshop when I'm going to pick my car up and I would like to speak to you....30 minutes go buy and I get a call from this "Service/worship manager" that he was wrong in the statement he made to me and he apologizes for it.....so when I went to pick my car up the Service advisor said to me that I will need to rebook the car in and it will take 2 weeks to find the problem so I said that's find please get me a loan vehicle in the mean time as I use my car for work and being a sales rep I cannot be without a car for 2 weeks so TUMI the advisor said she doesn't have any car to loan to me at this moment I will need to call in back by the end of the month as all her cars are out with other customers and she should have a car available for me in a months time this was from April to now 11 July 2025 I have not gotten a good enough response...I have send messages on their WhatsApp line I've sent videos off what's happening after we have rain and to date no contact nothing has been done. I have bee. Extremely calm and patient and I didn't not want to get onto this platform but weather it helps or not I dont know but this is where I am at right now and this is Pathetic service from an *********** SERVICE/WORKSHOP MANAGER to Staff that report to him also dont know any better.

I bought a Brand new car in September last year 2024, in December, the car started having issues with rear axle, loose and noisy, and posing a risk to me and other road users. I sent the vehicle for repairs in December, using the nearest VW as per the communication I got upon the purchase. The issue was not resolved. I sent it again in January2025, they failed again to resolve it, and I sent it again in February, they failed yet again. In March 2025 I sent it straight to Hoopers and I said if they fail this time around I no longer want the car. Note that I’ve reported the issue to hoopers long time ago and I informed them about the failed repairs. So, hoopers did fix the problem but I guess it was a quick fix and the problem came back again. I told them that I’m tired of sending the car every month for repairs like I bought a s**** or a reject that has issues, I told them that I no longer want this car but I want a refund because I wasted my money buying this defective car. Brenton Cole, the sales Director said he will not refund me nor take the vehicle back, he can only buy it at a retail price or I must trade it in. All these options are not in my favour, they favour them. I am not selling the car, the car shouldn’t be sold to anyone, it’s a defect and I’m no longer willing to carry on with this defective and reject car, why should I incur loses because of the defective car or why should I continue preparing and using this car?

I booked my vehicle in for repairs and got it back damaged. I reported it immediately and did 't get feedback from the service agent Dumi for over 2months until I took another vehicle in for service and repairs(which repair took a week and hasn't been resolved but because of this incident chose to ignore and take care back) and when i queried it. She referred me to the service/workshop manager who asked me to whatsapp him. It's been 2 weeks and he hasn't read or acknowledged my message nor answered my calls since. I called to complain to the Dealer Principal, Dave Hooper, who wasnt available. I left a detailed mesaage with Toni, the receptionist, but didnt get a response for 2days. I called back and Toni confirmed she emailed all 3 persons above and tried to connect me to Dave Hooper, who was unavailable and who confirmed receipt of her email and was awaiting feedback from Hendrik, the service/workshop manager, before he responds. He will contact me before close of business. Toni, called back to say that Dave Hooper had to leave and he will contact me in the morning. I will have to wait and see about that. It doesnt take 2,5months to address a cistomers query. I spent between R25k - R30k servicing 2 vehicles with Hoopers VW this year alone. I won't be going back and don't recommend others do, either.

I had a very disappointing experience with Hoopers Volkswagen, and I feel compelled to share it. I came across a vehicle listed on their site and was contacted by one of their dealers after inquiring. We discussed my interest in purchasing the car, and he requested several documents, which I promptly sent via WhatsApp. He then conducted a hard inquiry on my credit profile. The next day, instead of Sizwe reaching out to me, I had to call him to follow up. He mentioned that my loan was approved by their internal finance, and I was asked to make a deposit of R18,000. While I was willing to pay, Sizwe assured me he would try to negotiate for a lower deposit and get back to me. Unfortunately, this “negotiation” turned out to be an excuse to look for another buyer, as he never contacted me again. To my shock, the following evening, I checked their site and saw that the vehicle I was interested in had been marked as sold. They ran a hard credit check on my profile without completing the sale or informing me of any changes. This has now impacted my credit score unnecessarily. The dealership showed a severe lack of communication, transparency, and honesty. Their enthusiasm when first contacting me was misleading and ultimately felt like a ploy. Based on this experience, I urge potential buyers to be cautious when dealing with Hoopers Volkswagen and to take other negative reviews seriously.

I have had a very distasteful experience with hoopers vw durban, they gave me a car with major faults on it , just driving it twice I had to take it back, literally in 7 days ,then they agreed to take it back and picked it up in 15 days and resold it ...i was going to take another deal...but had doubts about it and the dealership and requested to withdraw from another deal and when i requested my refund of my deposit they refused and said is going to be kept for cost incurred on their side . I have not signed a otp for another deal nor did i pick it up from the dealer ....how can their faulty car become my cost to incure ,were they couldnt do their job in the first place, giving me a terrible experience of driving a new demo car, because im a lady they take women for granted, were i picked up something was wrong driving it twice yet the sales person couldn't pick it up but drove the car few months . The sales director says there no such thing as cancelling a deal. What about CPA? To a dealer i am just another profit but to a customer, it took hard work to save up for a deposit .I have been brand loyal and driving vw over 15 years. This is the type off treatment we get ! Utterly disgusted with their business ethics . Would never ever recommend them to any one !!!!!!
