I’ve been a loyal customer at this establishment for over six years without any major incident. However, what occurred on 26 May 2025 was both distressing and completely unjustified. While placing an order, the owner, who appeared intoxicated once again, approached me aggressively. She refused to serve me and made it clear that I was not welcome, citing a review I had left 8 months ago as the reason, which I believed had long been resolved. The owner not only harassed me for returning but also escalated the situation by involving her manager to remove us from the premises, despite us not causing any disturbance. My partner and I have spent years supporting this venue, including using the slots regularly without issue. The most alarming part of the evening was when several locals, seemingly encouraged by the owner, falsely accused me of physically assaulting a staff member named Jessica, claiming there was CCTV evidence. This never happened. To add to the absurdity, my partner and I have no clue of this incident or who the waitress was. The owner appears to be using past grievances as a personal vendetta to publicly discredit and humiliate me. This level of unprofessionalism, false accusation, and targeted harassment is beyond unacceptable. This will be reported to SAPS this morning.

I have been a regular customer at this establishment for over 6 years. following a previous incident with the very much drunk owner, Denise ***an. We visited peacefully and after supporting their business, unfortunately our visit today 26 May '25 took a deeply upsetting turn. While ordering a drink with the friendly staff, Denise ***an (I'd like to say Denise ***ard, because of the lies she told her regulars), who once again appeared intoxicated, harassed me for no reason, aggressively approached me quite clearly intoxicated, once again, and demanded no staff serve me again. She then called the manager (Mad-Eye Moody), and she stated that I was not welcome due to the previous hello peter review posted I had left a few months before. She publicly accused me of "throwing and attacking a picture toward a waitress". A complete fabrications because we do not eat at their restaurant due to multiple food poisoning occasions. She then proceeded to tell the fabricated story to multiple patrons at the venue, creating an unnecessary and humiliating scene. Not only was this false, but it appears to be a deliberate attempt to discredit me based on an old hello peter complaint. My partner and I were then asked to leave despite not causing any disturbance. To make matters worse, I was falsely accused by other regulars of assaulting a waitress's by the name of Jessica - with claims of CCTV footage yet Jessi a has not worked there in over 10 years, which my partner confirmed. This was not only humiliating but a blatant case of public defamation and targeted harassment. I remained calm throughout, but Denise's personal grudge and spreading of false, harmful accusations are completely unacceptable. I am posting this review not out of spite, but to warn others about the unprofessional and potentially damaging behavior we have experienced, twice. Let me remind me Denise ***ard, that false accusations and public defamation carry legal consequences... and I will pursue every necessary step to protect my name and reputation. Instead of targeting long term customers with false accusations, Denise the ***ard, should focus on improving her failing business, before there's nothing left to defend. Your behavior is destructive. If this is how Denise the ***ard treats loyal customers, it's no surprise the business is on a downward spiral. Plus, we have bluff meat supply next to you, and ultra liquor. We don't need you.

Been going there for at least the last 6 years, it used to be our local drinking place, until last night when the owner started attacking me because I walked past a picture and it fell down, she absolutely lost her **** at me, started screaming and asking someone to escort me out. In front of my son, I apologized over and over again, put the picture back on the wall and when she really started to get aggressive, I did pull her shirt and asked her who she talking to. There are cameras I'm sure, she started screaming hahaha if I want to hit you, you wouldn't see it coming, Karen. Also don't eat their food. You'll regret it.

I went to Woodcutters, Westville having looked them up online. It seemed that they had made changes and had added to what was previously a rather limited menu. Unfortunately nothing had changed. It was the same old menu and the menu itself was old, tatty and dog-eared. No specials were explained or even mentioned. Woodcutters has the potential to be a good restaurant with a little creativity, attention to detail and spruced up menu.

I went to Woodcutters, Westville having looked them up online. It seemed that they had made changes and had added to what was previously a rather limited menu. Unfortunately nothing had changed. It was the same old menu and the menu itself was old, tatty and dog-eared. No specials were explained or even mentioned. Spent last night at Woodcutters Kloof & the food was absolutely amazing the special was around R80 for a burger special and it was so so worth it. Everything was just Devine. Well done Woodcutters KLOOF! 😊

Phoned in a order and went to fetch and was told food not ready as they had made a mistake on a item.. waited while they prepared it..came home and the steak which I said must be well done was absolutely ****** inside.. tasteless food aswel. Waste of money and the drive to go there..will definitely not be buying from there anymore.

<div>Worst Christmas lunch and meal I have ever had at a restaurant on the earth! What a disappointment & *** management owner more than happy to take a deposit for the lunch in advance! It wasn’t necessary as there were about 20 people in the restaurant, speaks for itself. Starters Ruby Pear Salad - Creamy Blue Cheese, there was no cheese just a milky concoction of watery oily margarine infused sauce - Absolutely awful! Wild berry basted gammon – The gammon was basted in wild berry though still raw, chewy and cold. I couldn’t finish it – It was so awful! Only the 2 roasted potato halves were ok, spinach cold, little bit of butternut that was kind of ok. They completely forgot the herb gravy advertised on the menu, not served! Hot Christmas pudding with brandy butter - Dry raisin bread with a margarine brandy infused sauce. Had to leave it I was going to throw up - Absolutely awful and disappointing! I paid R300 a head for 4 people and I feel so upset and ripped off! Woodcutters Westville Durban ruined my xmas day! Fed back to **** in the restaurant about the margarine in the starters blue cheese sauce and margarine in the brandy butter xmas pudding - **** says people are spoilt! The only thing that was spoilt **** was the horrible xmas lunch! Very happy to take my money! Took a picture of the awful meal experience! What a disappointing & awful experience and waste of a xmas day 2019 with family! Never ever, ever again!</div>

<p>Went for supper with my parents tonight.</p> <p>Unfriendly welcome at the door and when we were seated. </p> <p>Restaurant was not busy. </p> <p>Waiter did not know what a pot pie was.</p> <p>Americano tasted like filter coffee.</p> <p>Ordered beef pot pie with veggies.</p> <p>Meal arrived and I had to ask for a tables****.</p> <p>Worst meal I have tasted in Durban in many years. Green beans and the pie were exceptionally salty. Pastry was not fully cooked. </p> <p>Waiter did not return to ask if the meal was okay. </p> <p>Got his attention eventually. </p> <p>Returned it to the waiter after a few bites of the pie. Manager came by to say that it was a bad batch of pie filling, offered to remove the pie from the bill and asked if I would like anything else. I declined and asked for the bill. </p> <p> </p> <p>When end the waiter came with the card machine he suggested that we should try the curries next time we come. (We are Indians)</p> <p> </p> <p>I ended up with an upset tummy that night. </p> <p> </p> <p>It is 2016 and yet this still goes on. I am very familiar with this sort of treatment in the past.
