I'm angry that hello peter makes me give 1 star to proceed to write my review. We have purchased a 80K lounge suite from Bakos which had to be exchanged and took many months. we had also bought leather dining room chairs, during their beginning of year crazy sale- marked down 50% this was 3 years back we paid R3000 per chair on the sale when the chairs arrived I was disappointed as the wood on the legs was such poor quality but after the drama with the lounge suite I just didn't have the energy and left it. Now I see after years of treating it with their leather treatment for leather that the seating area is cracking.... I called customer care and was advised they will call me back two weeks later I called again to be told they had tried calling me....not sure on what number- Today im told that our leather chairs are in fact imported VINYL chairs and not leather at all- why was I then sold "leather "chairs as well as the "leather" treatment the customer care lady Candice then proceeded to tell me that the price R3000 should tell me its not leather, I told her that it was the sale price ….and I for one don't like being sold and item under false pretenses they should advertise their items as Vinyl chairs not Leather chairs and sell their client leather treatment for years...…. she advise they will recover the chairs at our cost. NO Thanks - Bad quality and bad service - don't waste your money at bakos youre not buying what is on the floor or in fact whats on the description -and none of their "leather" furniture is guaranteed....

I bought Leather Lounge Suite from Bakos Brothers about 3 years ago and I have been struggling with them since I reported the Leather was fading about 6 to 8 months after I bought them. I also reported the coushions were moving while you seated and they came out to attend to them but they ignored the Leather by telling me that the Leather is not under warranty ....however, they could see how the Leather was fading. I really need assistant because I am sure that I am not the only going through this frustrations. Please assist. Ishmael

I bought Leather Lounge Suite from Bakos Brothers about 3 years ago and I have been struggling with them since I reported the Leather was fading about 6 to 8 months after I bought them. I also reported the coushions were moving while you seated and they came out to attend to them but they ignored the Leather by telling me that the Leather is not under warranty ....however, they could see how the Leather was fading. I’m highly disappointed with the service I received from this company. On the 8th of September 2018 I purchased a TV unit. On the 9th (the following day) I received a confirmation email stating that my order will be completed in the next 10 to 12 weeks. I was looking forward to get my TV unit as I’m hosting a Christmas Party December 2018. When the 12th week approached I sent an email to the Nathasa ( the lady who was incharge of my order) enquiring on the progress of my order , she responded by saying that my order will the completed by the 12 or 14th of December. On the 17th in the morning I got a call from the store manager Sonia from Menlyn where I purchased the TV unit letting me know that Nathasa is on leave and according to the factory schedule my order will be ready by February. I told her that it cannot be true because I have been in contact with Nathasa and she informed me that my order will be completed by December the 14th. Her response was she will call me on the 18th because the factory is closed as it was a holiday on Monday the 17th. On the 18th in the morning I took the initiative to call the factory to enquire about my order. I spoke to the lady called Candy or Condice on the call she said to me that she is going to check with the factory and will call me back in 10 minutes of which she did not . After hours of waiting for her call which never came through I decided to go the the store in Menlyn to go speak to Sonia. Sonia contacted Candice and asked her to check if my order is ready or not. The response was my order that I’ve been waiting for more than 12 weeks is not ready it will only be ready in February ( which is 20 weeks later after the date of purchase) . I was offered a loan TV unit which doesn’t match with my interior because the company failed to deliver on time and they were dishonest to me . Now I’m going to have a black Christmas Party. Thank you for poor service. Never again will I purchase anything from this furniture store

I am terribly sorry I did not know about hellopeter before engaging with Bakos - the reviews say it all. We viewed a couch bearing the descriptor 'Tamzin', a well-manufactured, extremely comfortable piece of furniture. We went back several times before deciding to purchase this, at a premium, from Bakos. The piece of furniture delivered to us clearly was not manufactured by the same enterprise as the piece they had on display. After extensive communication, all provable on e-mail, and by intervention of the original salesperson, who is not with Bakos anymore, were the seat inners changed to resemble something of the quality we thought we were buying. Now, less than 6 months after delivery, the seams are pulling apart. I called to enquire to whom I should address an email, it turned out this person is still the same as a few months ago, and wrote an email. I am still awaiting a response. I have several pieces of furniture, in two properties, some from highstreet brand furniture stores and some designer pieces, but I have never encountered this poor quality.

What a shocking poor, non-existence customer service experience I had. 1. Prices on their website is not updated when I went to the store the price was R8k more that what was on their website. False advertising 2. It took more than two months for my couch to be delivered 3. Even it was eventually delivered "their quality leather" started tiering off 3. The couch was collected for a repair and kept in their store for two weeks and then retained unrepaired. Still in the same condition that was collected 4. Worse the couch came back with skretches and with more damage 5. When I phoned the store I was told to phone the message on Monday 6. No service and no accountability 7. BlackBerry was once a powerful brand and didn't keep up with their customer expectations and as we know it today, they are history I will share my experience with all my family, friends, network and colleagues. Shocking experience for a brand that prides itself on quailty. My last purchase. I will not accept and deal with mediocre and substandard, poor customer service.

We ordered a couch in the middle of last year which cost just over R65 K. When the couch arrived, it was really badly made, so we complained. Took them about 2 months to come back to us with a solution, which was to replace the couch with a new one. The second one eventually arrived months later and was even worse!!! Took them from beginning of December to the beginning of this year to eventually respond that they would refund us in full. They collected the couch with the promise that the money would be refunded on the day they collected, that was this past Friday. I requested that the accounts department email me proof of payment and nothing. Sent another email on the weekend and i was promised by the Cape Town branch manager that she would request it. Today, i had to send a third email because money not in our account and no proof of payment. Bakos brothers used to have an outstanding reputation and their furniture was of such a high standard. I am really disappointed at the extremely bad manufacturing and even worse their lack of customer service. Very sad indeed.
