I realised my vehicle licence disk needed to be renewed. Contemplating to stand in die queue at the post office, I decided to give the FNB app a try. The process was seamless, but the delivery time is what resulted in this post. They promised delivery within 2-5 business days. I received my new licence disks this morning, on a Saturday and within 1 business day of payment. This is great service, thanks FNB.

Absolute pathetic service from Cell C. Phone unable to make and receive calls more than a week ago. Two sim swops later, for which I've paid, waited more than 50 hours, nothing! Told me to take my phone to Samsung myself, because if they take it, it takes 14 to 21 working days, as opposed to the 1 day if I take it to Samsung (Cell C Centurion Mall). Which is absolute nonsense. They lie to their loyal customers. Phone now at Samsung for repairs. Took spare phone and inserted "new" sim - it does not work - on both spare phones! Utter frustration. And all they can offer is "apologies for the inconvenience". No tech department in their stores. Still unable to work, make calls, losing work. Paying for a non-existing service!!
Since yesterday, I've been trying relentlessly to apply for private vehicle finance. First of all I was sent from pillar to post, trying my utmost to do an online application. Struggled so much, phoned numerous numbers and no one could help me with the online application. Huge frustration! Eventually managed to apply online, only to be told there is a 72-hour turnaround time! In the meantime, the seller wants to sell his vehicle and I am about to lose the deal! This is not how you treat your FNB clients! Just got off the phone with FNB, twenty minutes, again sent from pillar to post! NO joy! Pathetic service. I will now gave to go with Standard Bank, as they know how to treat new clients.
So, I did not want to do this, but Cell C leaves me no choice. On Black Friday, Cell C quickly took my call and upgraded my existing contract. They even offered me a smar****ch as part of the deal. Almost a month later, I have no phone and no smar****ch. The smar****ch is apparently out of stock. The best part of the sad story is that Cell C shops do have these smar****ches in stock, but Cell C online and Cell C franchisees cannot accommodate a years-long client in completing the deal! Quick to offer deals, SLOW to deliver on them. Poor, poor service from Cell C. I will move to another cell phone provider soon.
Makro does not allow a customer to partly purchase items online with Discovery Miles (Vitality) and settle the outstanding balance with a debit or credit card. They should honestly take their cues from online platforms like Takealot where you are allowed to make payments using different methods. This will afford clients with many loyalty points to purchase more items online if they are allowed to combine payment with a debit or a credit card. For example: I have 11 000 Discovery Miles and wanted to utilise those Miles as a part-payment towards a bicycle. Which means that I had to only pay in R300 cash to purchase the bicycle. I contacted the Makro Online call centre, who advised me that I am allowed to make part payments at any Makro store. When I asked the lady is she absolutely certain, she said yes. When I asked her a second time, she asked me to hold and came back with the answer that unfortunately I was not allowed to do a part payment in the Makro store! I eventually ended up purchasing a bicycle for my daughter at Game where I would have bought it at Makro.
Alex from Mit Mak Motors did an exceptional job with the purchasing of our vehicle. We had quite a few requests and sometimes demands (sorry Alex!) but he did not fail to deliver. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Will refer all my friends to you. Thanx again Alex.
This review is specifically for Bunches for Africa in Cape Town (Kuils River). I ordered flowers on-line at Bunches for Africa (Kuils River) and the payment process was effortless. It states on the website that flowers are delivered the next day. I took a chance and asked whether it was possible to do a same-day delivery. They did exactly that and delivered fantastic flowers, throughout communicating to me about its delivery. Well done Bunches for Africa, you never disappoint. Thank you for caring enough and making every client feel special!
Canva.com is an online platform for graphic design, and I have used it substantively since starting my journey in Masters in Commerce: Industrial Psychology. I once registered for Canva Pro trial (paid version with a lot of extras), and accidentally forgot to cancel prior to the expiry date. Since I reside in South Africa, the amount deducted from my bank account was huge (1 year subscription at a Rand-Dollar exchange rate!). I approached them, honestly not expecting much, since it's an online platform. To my surprise, they contacted me promptly, they refunded me the total amount, and only deducted the monthly amount both parties agreed to. How is this for integrity! I am recommending Canva.com to all my friends. This is how you do business! Well done Canva.com, you have a supporter for life!
First time we used UberEats. Really craved some fast food during lockdown. Was so impressed with the UberEats app, the notifications and food that was delivered on-time and tasty. Thank you, will definitely use you again!
