RA Number: 89045661 I can absolutely concur with countless other reviews – Hertz delivers appalling service and exploits customers. I rented a car for a week, fully prepaid, and even took out their so‑called premium package with excess waiver. The vehicle was returned without incident, yet Hertz ********ly withheld R4600 from the R6000 hold they placed on my credit card. They fabricated a R4000 “excess” for non‑existent damage and added R600 VAT on that excess. This is blatant theft. Only after repeated enquiries, nearly a month later, did they partially refund me – without any notice or permission. This disgraceful conduct has now forced me to consider legal action, wasting my time and money. I have already reported this matter to Carte Blanche and The Devi Show, awaiting interviews to expose Hertz publicly. Buyer beware: Hertz will take advantage of you. They hide behind fine print, delay refunds, and ********ly pocket money from innocent customers. Do NOT rent from Hertz unless you want to risk being ****** under the guise of “policy.” Hertz needs to be held accountable – and I strongly warn anyone considering them: look at the reviews, see the pattern, and stay far away.
I am writing this to express my absolute outrage at Auto & General’s refusal to honour a legitimate claim for accidental damage to my Samsung washing machine. Despite their marketing promising to "be there" for clients, their actual service is a masterclass in avoidance and bad faith. My claim was rejected with the vague, dismissive reason: "event not covered." This is a blatant attempt to hide behind policy fine print without actually investigating the facts. More shockingly, Auto & General failed in the most basic duties of an insurer: • Zero Assessment: They did not send an assessor or even request a technical report to understand the nature of the damage. How can an insurer determine an event is "not covered" without first determining what the event was? • Zero Communication: I was never phoned to discuss the incident. A multi-billion rand company couldn't find the time to give a loyal client a five-minute call before slamming the door on a claim. • Misleading Marketing: Your promotional emails are filled with "cer*****y" and "peace of mind," yet when a "sudden and unforeseen" accident occurs—the very definition of insurance—you disappear. This "refusal by default" strategy is a clear violation of the Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) framework, specifically Outcome 6, which requires that clients do not face unreasonable post-sale barriers to claim. I demand the following: 1. A written, detailed explanation of exactly why this specific accidental event is not covered. 2. A formal internal review of the claim by a senior manager. 3. The dispatch of a qualified assessor to actually look at the machine, as is your right and responsibility under your own policy terms. If this is not resolved within 48 hours, I will not hesitate to escalate this matter to the National Financial Ombud Scheme (NFO) and share this experience across every social platform available to warn others about the "protection" Auto & General actually provides.
I am currently experiencing completely unfair and unreasonable treatment from Standard bank home loans. I have currently got a bond with Standard bank and decided to take an additional amount on the current bond(which is in perfectly good standing, no arears, no late payment and a perfectly good credit score. Now upon applying for the additional amount Standard bank is refusing the loan unless I produce a clearance certificate from debt review, despite the fact that I am not under debt review and have a healthy credit record. Further more it is beyond comprehension why they now require a clearance certificate seeing as the original bond application went of without any problems. In addition I recently obtained vehicle finance with Wesbank which was also granted with no issues at all. Upon enquiring the matter to Standard bank it was confirmed that I was not on debt review, yet they still insist on me submitting a clearance certificate. As further confirmation I sent flawless copies of both Trans union and Experian credit reports in support of my case. According to Standard bank it is their AI system that requires it, and apparently no human being in the whole of Standard bank can do anything about it. I cannot begin to express my absolute disappointment in this whole scenario. I had even considered moving my banking over to Standard bank as I had recently read a article about Standard bank being the top bank in SA.
Was on a prepaid service, cancelled the subscription after about 7months. I was the phoned and informed that I was in arrears, how could a PREPAID service be in arrears? They kept harassing me with phone calls for the so called "arrears" amount. out of shear frustration i just paid the so called arrears just to be rid of the harassment. this means they forced me to pay for a service witch am no longer using, further more I paid for the tracking device up front. So it makes the device my property, witch was not returned to me, whose in the wrong now? I want a refund on the equipment that I paid for upfront, My best guess its that's not gonna happen. so be forewarned when doing business with Cartrack, you will regret it n the long run. I am now with Netstar and very happy with their service so far,
I bought a vehicle from them, at the onset of this transaction I was promised a R20000 cash back insentive. However after much pleading for them to do the right thing and honor their promise to give me R20000. However I am met with ********* actions and antagonism and being completely ignored. As a matter of fact the whole transaction was rife with lies, deceit and plain dishonesty. I would definitely advise anyone to stay away from Hyundai Vredenburg.
I bought a brand new Defy DGS679 gas oven. After delivery I had a registered gas installer install it, the ignition system to ignite the gas work with normal 3pronged household plug. The moment it was plugged into the socket it tripped the electricity of the home. I immediately logged a complaint. It took them a whole week to eventually respond to my request, where upon I was informed, I had to wait so they will log a technician with Defy "in due course". I also tried to log the defective oven to Defy directly, and they refused to do anything as it was apparently up to HIFI corp. to log the defect. My family have now been without means to prepare food for two week and neither HiFi corp. nor Defy demonstrated any sense of urgency to this matter. They are very quick in making the sale, however after sales leaves much to be desired form both companies. I had simply been told by Defy to wait until a technician is in my area. So herewith my warning when dealing with either HiFi Corp or Defy products, buyer beware, after sales is basically a joke.

So my previous complaint about this company had just been removed. This because I took them on about thhe fact that they are refusing to issue a letter stating that my account was written off by them years ago. They are thus deliberately preventing me having my name cleared from debt review. I had a legitimate reason for being unable to pay my loan, as I was declared medically disabled. They unfortunately feel it unnecessary to have a credit life insurance in place, just because the law does not prescribe it. They are now being vengefull and petty by not issuing a simple letter stating that my account was written off. Just remember, none of us knows what the future holds and if you have a loan with them and suddenly have a life altering event, you'll have no protection if you're unable to repay your account even your loved ones may be left to deal with debt. Be mindful of this, I also thought I was healthy and nothing would happen to me, until it did. I would recommend using a company that has credit life insurance in place to to ensure you're protected.
Be very careful when entering a loan agreement with this unscrupulous company. I had a lian with them. I fell I'll and was declared medically disabled. Subsequently lost my job. Was unable ta make further payments. I duly informed them of my situation and submitted proof. They had zero empathy with my situation and had no credit life insurance in place to protect myself and THEM from such unfortunate situation. Subsequently I was blacklisted, debt was written off as bad credit and now, years later the refuse to issue me with a letter stating that debt had been written of. I'm still not and will never be able to work again, but am trying to restore some dignity to my life by clearing my name from credit buro. So know this, Challenor finance are void of any ethical behaviour, have no good corporate governance ideology at all. They will through you to the vultures in a blink of an eye. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM.
Stay away from this company, I am still trapped in debt review, even though I'm debt free, they have been refusing to notify the credit bureau. Once you're in their claws, you'll have a tough time getting out. Please think carefully before getting snared by this company.
