🚨 Unprofessional and potentially life-threatening care at Abaqulusi Private Hospital! (Part 1 of 2) I was treated at this hospital from Feb 10th to Feb 15th, and my experience with Sister Khumalo was traumatic. When I struggled to breathe on Feb 12th and asked for help, she dismissed me, saying she's "too busy" - TWICE. Worse, she chose to attend to a bell that could've been assigned to someone else, prioritizing it over my critical need. Her colleagues apologized, but she remained unapologetic. ## A blatant disregard for human life Sister Khumalo's actions showed a shocking lack of compassion and professionalism. As a nurse, she's bound by the Nursing Act, 2005, and SANC's Code of Ethics to prioritize patient care and safety. Her behavior breached these fundamental principles, putting my life at risk. Her negligence could've led to: - Respiratory failure - Cardiac arrest - Death ## Compromising the profession Sister Khumalo's actions undermine the trust and integrity of the nursing profession. Her behavior is a stark contrast to the oath of "do no harm" and the values of compassion, empathy, and care that nursing embodies. ## A toxic presence Her attitude made me fear for my safety, even from poisoning. I avoided interactions, going to reception to drink water. This isn't what patients expect from healthcare professionals. ## Accountability is key Sister Khumalo's fitness to practice is questionable. I urge SANC to review her registration and Abaqulusi Private Hospital to hold her accountable. ## Exceptional care amidst darkness Nurses like Nurse Maphanga and Sis Xoli showed exceptional care, providing emotional support and responding promptly. Abaqulusi Private Hospital, prioritize patient care and hold Sister Khumalo accountable. Recognize nurses like Nurse Maphanga. Sister Khumalo, your behavior is unacceptable - patients deserve better. I'm seeking legal counsel. #NursingNegligence #AccountabilityMatters #PatientCare #SANC #NursingExcellence #Trauma #Distress

Good day, I have been trying since early March to get my 2024 APC certificate emailed to me. I did not receive the one that SANC say they posted. I have paid for this certificate and do not see how SANC can possibly withhold sending me a copy and thereby denying my right to employment!

I complained about the nurse who refused to render my dad service at the clinic in march 2022. When the nurse realized i laid a complaint agains her and the seriousness of the case. She went to the police station to open a case for me falsely accusing me of assulting her. Before i could appear in court i send SANC an email, calling for help from them because now my father was denied service and again the nurse opened a case against me of something i didnt do. The sent me an email to tell me that they are looking at that case and are waiting for court's decision. After my trial in court of which i was found guilty of something i didn't do. They called and told me that we are going to meet in pretoria to solve the case which was in 2023 and they will send further details. Till today i haven't got any communication from them. I am having a ******** record of something i didn't do and i lost my father in 2022. My case has been abunden like that. I am in the dark and hopeless.

Unprofessional and pathetic service by the South African Nursing Council! On 21/11/2023 I sent an email asking them to change my postal address. No confirmation from them to date. 0n 07/12/2023 I sent proof of payment for 2024 annual fees. Today is the 25th of February 2024 and I am still waiting for my SANC certificate. No possitive reply from all of them; the registrar, MacDonald Lefifi, customer service and personal details department. How must I obtain my SANC certificate?

As a registered Nurse, I paid my annual fees on 10 DEC 2023, which are due annually by 31 DEC: As I haven't received my certificate/licesce to work, I sent an email and asked why I haven"t received it and was told - " Thank you for the email. Your annual practising certificate for 2024 was posted. Please note that council do not issue duplicate annual practising certificates. Unfortunately, SANC do not fax or e-mail proof of payment. If you need a confirmation of payments for your annual fee for 2024, you need to email the request for a confirmation of payment with a certified copy of your identity document to apc@sanc.co.za for assistance." We all know that the postal system is defunct, I never receive any post except the telephone account from Telkom, so why post these important documents, why not charge a little extra, for those who want their certificate sent via a courier, make it the registered persons choice, at an extra fee. Or get with new technology and find a way to email certificates, or even WhatApp, or some new tech method to get this - basically "work permit" - to the person anxiously waiting for this important document in order to work. I have been a nurse for over 50 years and get treated like this! Not good enough. How do I now get my certificate to prove I am registered??? P.TAYLOR 1154053.

I have been trying to contact SANC for months now to no avail. Their Pretoria line rings the whole day while no one takes calls, what's the point of having a phone if you not taking calls. The email line is even worse, you can write 100s of email and no one even bothers to read and reply to any of them. What's the use of having this council if we can't even contact them to verify college registrations them. I called and emailed wanting to verify a college called FUTURE NURSES in Germiston and no one bothers to reply, that's was a simple task that would not even take 5 minutes to reply either by call or email. I really question the caliber of "professionals" employed to run that counsel I really feel like the government needs to look deeply into this matter. Rather they not have this counsel if the can't serve their primary purpose, it's clear that THEY CAN'T GET BASICS RIGHT!!!!!. I really feel that this is unfair to us as citizens. The department of health needs to look into this. If it so happens that BY MISTAKE SANC sees this my contact number is 0680143092 and my email is mmhlungu905@gmail.com. I really feel horrible for having to report and submit to a counsel that can't even answer basic queries VIA EMAIL for that matter. THIS IS AN INSULT TO OUR COUNTRY!!! SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE TO MITIGATE THIS PANDEMIC!!! I FEEL SO MUCH SHAME !!??

I am a South African nurse working abroad. I paid my annual fees in September 2022. My SANC receipt was supposed to be posted but I have never received it. It’s now the 23 Dec 2022, today I decided to make my way to SANC. Only for them to tell me they already posted it in October 2022. The lady at reception sent me to post office and told me it is not their fault at SANC if I have not received my receipt and I should go check at post office. The lady did not provide me with a tracking number for the postage. I got to post office and the lady working at post office was just as unhelpful, she told me she cannot help me without a tracking number. Now how am I supposed to continue with employment, anywhere in the world, without my SANC receipt?? They do not answer the phone. I have called multiple times. Very unprofessional and unhelpful.

I have sent three emails to this society. I have a serious complaint involving a deceased person. They do not pick up the phone or drop the calls. I will be contacting the MInistry of Health if I cannot get a reply on 0737265433 in the next week.
