I selected and paid for a child’s bicycle on June 5. I received a confirmation number and after a week I tried to contact them to confirm delivery date. They only provide an email address! Only on Friday did I get a response saying they were unable to to manufacture. They offered me 2 replacement bikes that do not look anything like my order! I want a full refund immediately so I can go and purchase a push bike ahead of my grand daughter’s birthday! I have asked them repeatedly to call me or provide a contact number so I can get this resolved with no more stress!!!!

I nearly had a big crash, due to West Rand Cycles, as Specialized Concept store, not doing their due diligence whilst assessing and cleaning my bottom bracket. I took it in for a sound in the BB. When I collected it, they mentioned they had cleaned it, nothing else was wrong. The next day I went for a ride, 10km in, my front bottom ring had come off and gotten stuck. I had to stop, luckily I had just completed a downhill and the road had started leveling out. The ring that normally has 4 s crews, only had 1 loose *****. The ring has damaged my frame and sc****d a chunk out of my BB area. I took it back requesting a carbon fix, but they took the cheap way out and just used epoxy to fill the gap. I requested a guarantee/warranty of the work as they did not fix it properly with a carbon repair. This was agreed upon by West Rand Cycles on Whatsapp. To this day I have still not received a proper guarantee/warranty on the workmanship. On top of this, I did 2 Retul set ups with them on my MTB and Road bikes. Firstly the digital foot and sit bone measurement system was not working. So it ended up being measured manually. It took them over a month and a bit to send me the assessment on mail, but without the bike set up Zin. I have no idea what my bike measurements are. In the past I have had many bicycles set ups and always left with something in my inbox regarding how my bike was set up. I have emailed and messaged them, with no response. Is this how Specialized concept stores are treating customers these days? It is quite shocking to see how such a big, well known brand can be so negligent, especially with all the crashes and death that happen in this sport we love so much.

Becareful with the frame warranty of high end bikes. I had recently purchased a epic sworks raw carbon frame which had a defect in it . I was told that they were going to exchange it. They just sent a completely different colored frame which was not to my liking plus the shop I deal with even said they had not seen that color before. I asked them to please get what I paid for which they said can't as they don't have . To cut a long story short. The exercise for me to get what I had ended up costing me R75000. To purchase a new bike and then sell the warranty bike and parts. For a R240000-00 bike this is not the service you expect. Unacceptable service from head office . If you buy a raw carbon bike you expect the same under warranty and not what ever they have lieing around. Just be aware of their warranty . A month later they are advertising the coloured bike I had at a discounted price. Funny that they now have stock. Absolutely useless company when it comes to warranty of their failure to maintain quality

Want to tell, not lay a complain about my experience since ive purchase this GREAT BIKE on 29th June 2021. I live in Vredenburg,West Coast area,140km from Cape Town. Bought the bike on 29/06/2021,arrived back in Vredenburg, took a ride down the road,it is max 100m,turn around and just hear the chain stuck and paddles dont want to move, there was a cable loose, just after ive bvought it and it was checked through to be ready to go. Send a message, told what happened, next day, have to drive 280km round trip at my expenses to get it fixed. Enter for the Munga Grit Cradle, got there, the friday 1st October it started, after 20;00 the weather got really bad, roads where muddy, very muddy and wet. With that great quality Shimano SLX drivetrain on,off all the mud the derailleur pulled up,upwards, into the casette and got stuck and i couldnt go any further. Thats fine, but one thing that i cant still to this day cant understand and get my head around,is that other guys, older and younger, same bicycles, just with Sram drivetrains on could finish the race and didnt even struggle 20% of what i did, some off them even had 2015 models specialized epic comp models. The week after that ive made phone calls to the specialized branch in the Paarl,Stellenbosch and eventually spoke to the manager at the head office in Stellenbosch regarding this matter, needed answers but got nothing.I also asked why did the previous models all came out with Sram GX,told me that is in the hands of specialized global to decide, they can help me with the frame work, but that wasnt the problem at all. So there i was were i was at the start again. Then in November 2021,did the Rooibos2Muisbos,100km event.Around 90km i could feel its getting more and more difficult to cycle, stopped, had a look and on the derailleur the chain came off, think at that time i did 2000km with this bike. After that it happened 4-6times,got it fixed, also at my cost again, did this at specialized table view, cycles direct. After that it was time for the Munga.Started off well,on day 3 it started to rain, roads were flooded,it was very very very bad conditions again. The two older guys, that ive cycled with from 170km on the munga, both have s-works bicycles, both Sram drivetrains didnt struggle as I did AGAIN with the muddy and the wet conditions. Ive recorded how this bicycle of mine sounded, like a tractor or something x 5000.There bicycles, dead quiet!!! On the 6th December ive send that video to cycles direct in table view, asked to send it or play it for a mechanic there, just to listen if he can maybe tell me or give me an answer of what could have cause that as the other guys bicycles were dead quiet. STILL,to this day,28 April 2022,IM STILL WAITING ON AN ANSWER!!!!!!!!!!! Meantime i thought what can still go wrong or what is wrong,is it me?Or is it the bicycle that ive purchased,i was fit that time i think, did all the prep work and alot of riding and training. Short and the long, ive replaced this whole Shimano SLX drivetrain end of January 2022,best thing ive could have done!! 19 April, late afternoon,my bicycle was dropped off at cycles direct in table view,a frind of mine from the west coast took it through to cape town.It was said the shocks service would take 5-7 working days,no problem.Ive entered for the 36One on 13th May 2022 again,so there is still prep work to be done to stay fit and be ready for that event. 21st April, send a whatsapp to find out more or less when the bike will be ready or any news when the service will be done with so that i can collect and plan a trip to cape town accordingly. 26th April, send a whatsapp message to say someone will drop off tyres for me and valves that i would like them to fit, also asked if there is any feedback regarding the shocks,i must begin to ride again,361km is not around the corner. Any case, received a "WILL do" reply, nothing nothing regarding the shocks. So,it is 5 working days already. This morning ive send a message again, still no answer regarding the shocks. Ive phoned specialized in Stellenbosch, asked a guy there that the name i have, how long does it normally took a shop to service the brain shock and shocks. He answered"2-3 working days". He gave me the number off the shop where the shocks are serviced, phoned them, the 4th time someone answered. Tell him the whole story,he phoned me back and tells me that theyve only received it TUESDAY!!!!!!26 APRIL!!!!! I could not believe that,a weeks time,i could have walked to Johannesburg in 7 days time, the two places are more or less 70km from one another. Upset is not the word,he has gone out of his way and said he will make sure the shock is serviced today and will arrange for same day delivery to cycles direct in cape town. Good that was done. So now, tomorrow i must drive through again, another 280km at my own costs. The way i feel right now,i dont want that bicycle anymore, ive been with this thing through alot, alot of negativity,NOTHING of this new bike that ive bought, gave me a little bit off pleasure. I thought the whole time that cycling and doing mtb events will give me much pleasure and joy like it was suppose to be,it was like that, until ive bought this bicycle. From Day 1 it spiral DOWNWORDS and not upwords like it was suppose to be. So a BIG THANKS to cycles direct and everyone involved. I really wish that this story can get me in the direction of Bobby Behan,i would like to hear his answer to this. I am busy getting the contact details of specialized in the USA aswell, want to tell them this fairytale aswell. In my books,NEVER is a VERY VERY VERY VERY LONG TIME,but never ever again will i ride any specialized nor s works bicycles in my life again, just now till i get other options. I wont be doing the 36One on this bicycle because off my experience, damage has be done and nothing will change my mind in any way further on from here. Hopefully there will be someone out there that will take or buy this bicycle so that i can buy me a bicycle from a place that looks after their so called clients and gives you service and put you into the right direction. On a good day i will give it -100000 out of 10 for this experience. Maybe i was just the unlucky one that got the bad out of the bundle, youll never know, but on the other hand, when it is like that you need assistence, people to put you into the right direction, help you, assist you, maybe the bicycle ive bought was not in the price range to get any help and assistence. I even was so dumb to bought bibshorts,a helmet and a bicycle for my wife aswell, this will get rid off ASAP,never will i wear any off these ever again. I can go on like this for alot more to tell all the details and the **** ive went through with all of these people, but thats it for more. I would like to know if im the only one that had these problems and this experience or are there any other people out there this also happend to. My best regards Hennis Van Zyl

Specialized Bicycles Africa is using the following platform - https://www.specialized.com/za/en - to advertise their range of products with prices (ZAR). This website is not integrated with their dealer network so it is impossible for them to advise customers where, what and how many of these items are available In their dealer network. Furthermore if you contact their customer care department, Enzo Grande he indicates that he will follow-up with his dealer network via mail. This afternoon when I followed up with Enzo he replied with few dealer names and numbers and indicated that I must phone them and if they have stock I can purchase the product from them. Great customer service after you in writing confirmed that you will follow up and get back to your customer. It is not the customers fault or problem if the platform being used cannot indicate which dealer have stock or not. Must the customer now contact all 23 dealers to find out where he/she can find the stock as advertised on their website with pricing. As far as my knowledge goes a retailer cannot advertise any product and price of he cannot supply this product to the customer. False advertising as per the Customer Protection Act. It is very concerning that a international company like Specialized still operates in the manner in this economic climate.

One of my goals this year was to complete the Ironman 5150 African Series. Although I did not finish my Ekhuruleni race because of Specialized Bicycle in Lynnwood, forgetting to put back the axle bearing on my rental bike during a service. I have not recieved my series medal because this happened. I worker hard for this. The only reply was that they will give me a R2000 voucher to spend at their shop. I have paid over R60,000.00 for my sport this year and I feel that you robbed me from a goal and bicycle. I was told if I complete all the events that I shall get a new TT bike from a mentor of mine. This is unacceptable and I feel that the branch’s technical department were at fault and negligent. Specialized Bicycles

I have bought a brand new Specialized Tarmac Pro frame set at the end of 2012 which costed me R25 000.00. After less than a year I notice a small bubble on my rear stay under the paint work. About three weeks ago I notice the bubble got bigger and decided to take it to the bike shop I bought the frame from. They confirm that the bubble was under the paint work and definitively is a manufacturing problem and the bike was also standing indoors. They forward the frame to Specialized in Stellenbosch which are the suppliers and they said the that paint warranty has expire. The bubble is under the paint and it looks like rust forming under the paint. They are still refusing to replace the frame. I am very upset with the whole situation as the product does not come cheap and it no fault myself that cause the damage to the product. At the end of the day I think it's better to buy the Scott, Giant and other brands as you get better service and value for your money. I will definitely recommend all my cycling buddies and any one look for the Specialized bikes not to buy it.
