I would like to firstly Say, that the ladies at the Space Mall of Africa are by far the best sales people this franchise have hired, they were very accommodative and welcoming, above all they were always happy to assist. But I won’t say much about the Space in Rosebank mall, the ladies at store are unwelcoming and really look down on people, I was left looking as though I don’t deserve to be in their shop. There’s an elderly lady there who seems to be the owner or manger I’m not sure, she really made me feel like I’m wasting her time while being at that shop and all I needed was a beautiful designer item. It’s difficult to support our own South African designers when sales people treat you like you don’t deserve to be in their shop. I’m truly disappointed by their treatment. And honestly sad to say I will never spend my hard earned money at their store again. By the way I had bought a dress. And that will be the last item I’ll ever purchase. Classism should be stopped in the black community honestly.

On the 15th of May I visited your store at Rosebank Mall. I explained to the staff that I was there to return a defective item and that my friend, the purchaser, is currently in the Eastern Cape. They searched for the same item in the correct size, but it was unavailable. The person assisting me informed me that I could not return the item for a refund, claiming it was against store policy. I showed her the receipt and asked her to indicate where this policy was stated. She told me it had been explained verbally at the time of purchase and pointed to a stamp on the receipt as proof. I then asked if she was the cashier who had supposedly explained the policy, and she said no. The conversation was unprofessional, and her attitude was dismissive. When I asked why she was so confident about the policy despite the receipt suggesting otherwise, she could not provide a clear answer. I requested her name in order to file a complaint, but she refused and walked away. I also asked for the store’s email address to escalate the matter, but she again refused. As a last resort, I took a photo of her to identify her. I would like to thank the manager, who consistently apologized for the situation. However, I felt disrespected and degraded by the cashier’s behavior. I left the defective dress on the at the store and informed them that I would report the matter. As a consumer, my rights were infringed, and I will take this further if the issue is not resolved. All I am requesting is a refund. We do not intend to shop at The Space again. I sent an email to the area manager and she never responded. Their service is pathetic I don't advice anyone to buy from them. Imagine paying R1800 for a defective dress and told that you can't return.

Purchased a Black Fluidity Dress with Sequins on 10/05/2025. Came home and saw sequins missing. Tried to return the defective dress on the 12/05/2025 and was told, no refunds. This store sold me a defective dress, and they are refusing to abide by the Consumer Act. I should be given a choice to repair, replace or refund, their policy is flawed and shows ********* consumer practices. I want my full refund. A complaint has been logged to the Consumer Ombudsman, and I await feedback. Please DO NOT purchase from them. I used to be a regular, but NO MORE.

Hi, this is the third time that my mom is coming to your store in Cavendish requesting a refund and she keeps getting inconvenienced and turned down because her credit card is from Capitec and you have no cash in your tills, we are coming from Zevenwacht and driving to the southern suburbs which is costing a chunk on fuel and now there is a possibility that we are expected to come back a FOURTH time if somebody named Neil doesn't deposit the money in our account, on average fuel is R170 to come here and it was acceptable the first time but to spend the same amount a FOURTH time to get something as simple as a refund is ludicrous! Please find a way that doesn't inconvenience my mother and myself or reimburse on fuel, each drive we make is over 30km for you lot to CONSTANTLY turn us down, and according to the consumer protection act you are failing your customers

I recently bought and Essenwood white dress from one of the designers at the Space shop in Brooklyn Mall. When I arrived home the dress had a massive tear on inside of wrap around dressd. We immediately contacted the Space and sent them pictures of dress and tear, who asked us to return the dress which I urgently needed for a awards evening that night (and we live 1 hour away). I visited the store the next week who suggested that I tore the dress and offered me R500 to console met. Surely if you pay a premium for a dress you expect stores to double check quality and ensure that customers are 100% satisfied as per Consumer Protection Act. Ive rejected the offer and asked for replacement dress but no response. Really poor service!!

Received a gift from The Space Gateway at R1079. They stated no refunds so i decided to exchange it for something else as i had no choice. I chose an item for R1050. Was told they cannot give me the difference, i had to take something else and pay the top up. The cheapest item was a purse the size of my palm for R145. Mind you, i had come to do an exchange and was not willing to spend any money. I refused and told them keep the credit of R29. They insisted they cannot. (Which shop refuses to take free money that I'm giving them) Eventually i said give me 15 paper bags at R2 each that they use to pack purchased items in, i will pay the difference of R1. They yet again refused and said they can't allow me to buy their bags to put other items i may buy and walk around the mall with it. I said fine, I'll buy the bags, pay for it and they can keep it and use it for their customers. They yet again refused. I asked to speak to the manager, they phoned the manager and eventually tell me unfortunately it gets worse, it's a sale item and they cannot even exchange it. I wasted 1 hour in that store. The item i received as a gift was so cute, i just wasn't happy with the fit. The item i wanted to exchange it for was a bag that was also so cute. Just wish they didn't have such a ridiculous policy. I will be telling everyone i know to never ever buy from The Space.

I bought a dress at the Space in mall of Africa by designer Colleen Eitzen, and only wore it once and it tore as a sat on my car back from an event. I took the dress back to the store to get an exchange or refund and was told to come back as the store manager has to discuss with you the designer regarding the damaged dress. I received the below reply from the store and I am not happy. This is a very disappointing experience. “Good Afternoon Anathi Hope you are well. First I would like to apologise for sending a message but I have tried to call to no avail. Please note that as per our conversation, when you were last in the store, the designer has assessed the damaged dress as per the procedure. Unfortunately, the designer Colleen Eitzen, will not be repairing the damaged dress as per the assessment. The fabric was not damaged due to factory fault, the issue was the sizing which was small and caused the dress to be torn. King regards Charmaine Masuku Store Manager The Space Mall of Africa” I subsequently sent a query to the mentioned designer and was completely ignored by her till this day. The message was sent in June 09 2023. The dress costed me over R1500. I am very disappointed with this dress, The Space at mall of Africa as well as the designer for their extremely poor service.

The proper is very unorganised and unprofessional, the property has no power back up and yet they notifies no one about it not even share their load shedding schedule. I was with my 18 months old and was stranded in the middle of the night without hot water to make formula nor warm food. The property manager/agent is unprofessional she forever has peers gathered at the reception which is very destructive whenever you want to report a concern, they smoke **** & cigarets at the stairs and the entire building get covered in a cloud of smoke.
