I was given credit for a stay at the hotel after the hotel managed to mess up what was supposed to be a special stay. Nothing was mentioned about any timelines. Now the hotel refuse to honor the credit, even though I have all the proof, refuse to give me their legal or the industry ombudsman's contact number.

Great hotel, superb rooms and and awesome breakfast. Has a touch of being slightly outdated though, just slightly however. The location isn't really ideal if on holiday; has a corporate feel to it, understandably but still catered to my wife and I's stay. Gym was not working upstairs, looks like a refurb in place. Rooftop was amazing but rain didn't allow us to flourish hahaha Great stay. Staff amazing with exceptional service from time of booking all the way through to checkout and the inbetween.

Great hotel, superb rooms and and awesome breakfast. Has a touch of being slightly outdated though, just slightly however. Hi, I went by to the square hotel this sunday with my fiance to view the wedding conference facilities. We were attended to by Leonard. He was so helpful and accommodating to us. He took his time and didn't rush us, answered as many questions as he could and definitely made a good first impression. #BlackFriday

The hotel has a lot of potential yet it did not completely meet my expectations for a 4 star boutique hotel, to start off with the room (this is the Deluxe Suite) cupboard was completely broken could not open or close and the shelves inside the cupboard were broken too, the carpets were badly stained almost as if someone had thrown up on it and left it to dry, the room skirting's were broken and the headboard by the bed as well. Overall the furniture in the room should be changed or fixed even just vanished! The Bathroom ceiling and wall was covered in black mold. The breakfast was not up to standard, my partner and I went down at 8:00, most of the food was finished and we had to ask that it be refilled as it was not being refilled on top of it the food was cold and the station where the buffet was set up was messy (sauce and food lying all over the table).

My Fiancé and I were looking so forward to getting away, we booked our breakaway at the Square Boutique Hotel in Umhlanga. My Fiancé and spent a week at your hotel, and to say the very least were truly disappointed in the level or service and the state of the room we stayed in. I am well traveled and expected a lot more from a “boutique hotel “. Firstly, our first night we were woken up by a shower of water coming from the bathroom ceiling, the error was corrected the next morning, the fridge was not working, but was replaced with another unit, the tv was not working and was told was due to a technical error, not to mention being on the 3rd floor, we were constantly woken up by the pool and noise. The WiFi was not active and the window was broken. After requesting to see the manager, was told he was unavailable. This was not at all a good experience and would not recommend this venue. Disgraceful

<p>i recently visited the square with a few friends we had orded 4 jaggermisters the bar tender asked if would like jaggerbombs so we agreed after drinking the first round we wanted the bill the bartender gave us a verbal bill R255 for 4 jaggermisters =R63 PER SHOT! after querrying he then appologised and gave us another verbal bill of R25 PER SHOT AND R35 for a redbull that was understandable we questioned his previous amount and he went back to the computer only to come back with another bill this time a real one with n amount of R220 =R55 PER SHOT? i asked to speak to the manager as he clearly did not know what he was doing he then responded I AM THE MANAGER ... SHOCKED AND VERY DISSAPIONTED i paid the bill and left i have visted the square at numerous occasions and never experienced this Monstrosity. I am very dissapointed at the service and level of intellect to handle mathematics let alone customer service i will never recommend or go there again.</p> <p> </p> <p>thank you for helping me save my money it will longer be wasted to pay incompetent rudeness </p> <p> </p> <p> </p>

<p>I would like to share my experience of your hotel the Square Boutique Hotel & Spa this past weekend.</p> <p>We were there for a funeral and booked at the last minute based on the pictures we saw on the internet, we took 3 rooms.</p> <p> </p> <p>Upon check-in there was a foul smell in the elevator and in reception that could not be ignored<br />We checked-in and then went out for dinner because of the smell, we chose not to eat there even though we were tired<br />Upon our arrival back to the hotel, I went to the basket bin under the tv stand, in the bin was a used ******!!!!!! It certainly was not ours – we called room service who looked shocked and took it away. BUT OMG in all of my travels I have never come across anything like this!. Either it was there when we arrived and we didn’t see it, or someone went into our room while we were away. This is totally unacceptable and poses a serious health risk! I didn’t book at a Formula 1, this was apparently a 4 star??? I am disgusted!!!!<br />By this time it was 11pm and too late to find a new hotel so my husband asked me to please suck it up. I refused to sleep in the bedding because I was not sure about the background of this room by now. <br />Requested fresh towels in the morning, this arrived with hair stuck on it that did not belong to me</p> <p> </p> <p>It was terrible and I will be putting my review on trip advisor, but I wanted to bring it to your attention because after complaining on Saturday – we still didn’t get any feedback on Sunday when we checked out. Apparently the manager was only coming in at midday???<br /> </p> <p>No response from Misty Blue - group that owns the hotel. the manager finally called me on Tuesday after I sent the complaint once again on their website and all I got was a "we're sorry".</p>

IT WAS VALENTINES WEEKEND,EVERY GUEST WOULD EXPECT TO HAVE THE BEST TREATMENT AT A 4* HOTEL.ON THE INTERNET, THE ROOMS ARE ADVERTISED AS FOLLOWS: 2 ROOM TYPES: SUPERIOR DOUBLE OR SUPERIOR DELUXE. ALL ROOMS HAVE A SLEEPER COUCH. WE GET TO THE HOTEL AND WE ARE ALLOCATED A ROOM WHICH HAS NO SLEEPER COUCH AND NOT ACCORDING TO THE PICS THAT WE VIEWED ON THE NET. WE CALL RECEPTION AND THE GUY SAYS HE WILL TRY TO FIND US ANOTHER ROOM. ABOUT 20 MINS LATER, WE ARE MOVED TO ANOTHER ROOM, WHICH STILL HAS NO SLEEPER COUCH BUT HAS A CHAIR AND TABLE. WE SAID TO THE STAFF THAT WE WOULD LOOK FOR ACCOMODATION ELSE WHERE FOR THE WEEKEND. SO THEY ASK US TO WAIT IN THE 2nd ROOM WHILE THEY FIND ANOTHER ROOM. WE WAIT AGAIN FOR ABOUT 30MINS. THE GUY COMES TO US AND SAYS HE WANTS TO SHOW US A 3rd ROOM. THE 3rd ROOM WAS STILL NOT SATISFACTORY. SO WE GO BACK TO RECEPTION AND WE ARE SENT WITH ANOTHER STAFF MEMBER TO SHOW US 2 MORE ROOMS. ALL OF WHICH NEVER MET OUR EXPECTATIONS. 1 HOUR HAS ALREADY PASSED, WE ARE SENT TO THE FINAL ROOM WHICH LOOKS EXACTLY LIKE THE PICTURE ON THE INTERNET WHICH DESCRIBED A SUPERIOR DOUBLE.
