We have a sealy Ronan mattress that starte leaking/oozing a fine viscous oily substance about 3 moths ago. Its colourless and (mostly) odourless and does not stain the mattress. It does however keep seeping into/onto the bedsheets in the corners. Mostly the bottom part first that then increases over the entire corner over a few day period. It was reported and an inspector came to assess it. He reported back to the head-office that 'he did not find any signs of it' after I showed him this myself and providing photos. The fact that it does not create a stain (as it is colourless), they say, shows there is nothing wrong. Some slight researching on the subject show results that it could be from material breakdown of the foam used or some of the fire retardant materials used within the mattress - this being a health hazard too by the way.... They deny this and deny any claims.

After numerous attempts no feedback was received. I will never recommend anyone to by a bed by The Bed Shop and then have to deal with Bravo Beds after the bed have a 10 year warranty and before 2 years the bed is sagging. It seems like no one is interested to assist us. Seally is supposed to be one of the best name brands for beds, but clearly the quality is very poor. Can someone from Seally head office please contact me or they do not give me a choice as to get my lawyer involved. Tel 0767917579

27 Sep 2019, I purchased x4 Edblo beds(x2 QN Avila, x1 DBL Letaba, x1 QN Letaba) from Sleepking Durban, x1 for me in JNB, x1 for my Parents in DBN, x2 for my brother & nieces as gifts, elsewhere in DBN. I did not receive the beds immediately, there were stock, material, manufacturing issues etc, eventually months later, when I did receive, within a week the beds started sinking, I opened a query & was promised exchanges, which took over a year with endless stories & excuses, covid, stock, material etc, in 2022 they opted to swop out however not all was exchanged the same issue of defects, damages persisted, again empty promises in vain, Sleepking referred me to Bravobrands, who sent through inspectors, I was requested to send pictures, videos etc, years later nothing resolved. I spoke with Verdi the customer services Manager in JNB recently who said in his years he never came across this still open complaint & will prioritize it. I requested the options of exchanges & he said he will contact me & did not, they contacted my father to deliver the same morning, unannounced, then called my brother who lives elsewhere to find out one bed is a 3/4 not a queen, no one picked this up or questioned in ALL THOSE YEARS, it was a GIFT!, the beds were not swopped out, Verdi sent an email advisng the matter is closed, to date this is not resolved. I still DONT have what I paid for. Absolutely pathetic disgusting service!!!

I am writing to complaint about a Queen-size Sealy Olympia Firm (Heavy Duty 140kg) bed that I purchased in August 2023 from The Bed Shop, Parow Centre. At the time of purchase, the salesperson explicitly assured me that the bed came with a 10-year warranty and that it was one of your most durable, firm options. The warranty period was also reflected on the sales slip. We purchased the bed cash after being told that the store was “closing down” and offering a special price. Despite both my husband and I being well below the 140 kg limit and rotating the mattress regularly as instructed, we began noticing significant sagging on both sides within the first year. By the second year, the sagging has worsened to the point of discomfort. When I returned to the Parow Centre branch, I was surprised to find that the store had not closed down as previously stated. The new salesperson advised me to log a complaint through your online warranty system. However, the website did not allow for adequate file uploads, and after several attempts and follow-ups, I was informed by Bravo Beds that the mattress only carries a 1-year guarantee—directly contradicting what I was told and what was stated on my proof of purchase. This experience has been deeply disappointing and reflects misrepresentation and poor after-sales service. Under the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) of South Africa, goods are required to be of acceptable quality, durable, and as described by the supplier. Selling a product with misleading warranty information constitutes a breach of the CPA. I WILL NEVER EVER BUY A SEALLY AGAIN AND WILL RECOMMEND YOU ALSO DO NOT!!!!

I bought an Ebdlo bed last year at ok furniture but 6 months in the mattress is sinking in and losing its firmness. I tried complaining and I was told to send pictures. The bravo group decline my complain stating that everything is still fine. I'm disappointed with the quality and customer care. Selling bad quality and not owning up to their mistakes.

The bed is barely three months old, yet it has already lost its firmness and feels as though I am sinking into it like a sponge. This is not the quality I expected, especially considering the amount of money I paid. I have previously raised this issue but have not received a satisfactory resolution. In terms of the Consumer Protection Act (CPA), I am entitled to goods that are of good quality, in proper working condition, and durable for a reasonable period. This bed clearly does not meet those standards. If I don’t get a response I will be filing a complaint with the NCC

We purchased an Edblo bed from OK Furniture in Eersteriver, and it has been a nightmare ever since. The base of the bed snapped due to extremely poor craftsmanship, flimsy, cheap materials that clearly are not built to last. The matress itself is also not comfortable at all and has bulges all over. We reported the issue on the 10th April 2025, submitted all requested photos and videos, and expected a smooth replacement through the warranty. Instead, we were thrown into an exhausting back and forth between OK Furniture, Edblo, and some company called Bravo which we were never informed would be involved or heard of. Bravo had the audacity to quote us a ridiculous amount of R4000 for a warranty claim! Only after declining did they lower it to R2425 proving that they try their luck in over charging customers for their poor quality beds! We then accepted the new amount of R2425 and paid it immediately on 29 May when we received the quote, thinking they will speed things up as they were in a hurry to receive the warranty fees. But here we are in July still without a replacement bed, still sleeping on a broken bed, and getting no updates or assistance. Meanwhile, both my husband and I who serve as police officers are risking our health and safety going to work physically exhausted and in pain. Backaches, headaches, and sleep deprivation have become daily struggles. We have to patrol in high crime volatile gang infested areas and CAN NOT afford to be exhausted due to a lack of sleep or have a lack of mobility due to a sore spine. I’ve made it clear to OK Furniture that this situation is impacting our well-being, and still, we’re being ignored. All OK has to say is they did their part but according to us we bought the bed at OK furniture and they need to sort this issue out! The silence, delays, and runaround from all three companies is outrageous. If either of us gets hurt on duty due to this continued negligence, we will pursue legal action. This entire experience has been unacceptable and emotionally draining. Avoid buying any beds from OK furniture especially the brand Edblo
