Avoid this hotel. Arrived Tuesday at 11pm from a late flight, drunk group outside the entrance making noise. Got to my floor, man pacing up and down the corridor talking loudly on the phone. After midnight and men shouting, doors slamming, people going up and down.

I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding my recent interaction with the hotel manager, Aden, in relation to a refund request due to an unexpected medical emergency. Despite providing all necessary details, I was met with a lack of understanding and empathy from the manager. Aden not only refused to issue a refund but also displayed a rude and unprofessional attitude throughout our conversation, showing little regard for my circumstances or well-being. As a customer relations manager, I was extremely disappointed by the lack of compassion, especially given the seriousness of my situation. I believe that the hotel should uphold basic standards of customer service, especially in situations where guests are experiencing difficulties beyond their control. They have lost an ongoing client and definitely will be spreading the experience I had with everyone I know.

Travelled from JHB to CPT on business. Checked in on the 9th July at 11:30pm. The Deluxe room 421 had a damp smell. We realized the carpet close to the window was extremely wet. We called the front desk to inform them. The hotel apparently was fully booked. On the 10th July on our return to the room the smell was worse. I called front desk once again and they advised that they will send housekeeping. Luno who was very helpful tried to vacuum the water, it was almost a liter water in the vacuum but it made no difference as the damp smell did not go away. A lady came after to spray, still no difference. Front desk advised that they only have one room available which was a studio room 532. The studio room was not any better as we had to deal with the size of the room, grime in the shower, smelly towels and the flooring looked like a patched puzzle. I informed the staff that I had bilateral knee surgery and could not walk far. We had no option to move rooms as the first night caused my chest to be heavy breathing the dampness in the room. I spoke to Junaid the night manager who also checked the room, requesting a refund from Deluxe to Studio. He could not make a decision and informed me that on check out I should speak to the manager on duty. The manager on duty was Ayanda. I explained the situation, he was not helpful at all but arrogant making it my problem. I requested a refund on the difference and he advised that the difference between Deluxe and Studio room was R200. He offered the R200 and I rejected it as the inconvenience caused at a Luxury 4 star hotel was not worth R200. Worst experience in a 4 star hotel and will not recommend to anyone. The hotel needs to train their managers to deal with the situations. Rooms are definitely not 4 star. We spend our money and expect the service. Totally disappointed. To anyone looking to book this hotel, think twice as the reviews don’t tell the honest truth about this hotel. The hotel responses to good reviews and ignores the bad reviews.

Spent the night there while attending the FEDHASA Gala Awards (which was also great). Coming from hospitality industry - I am critical, but this hotel is really up there. Classy but not intimidating, spotlessly clean, and the suite I spent the night in was pure luxury - didn't want to leave. One can see the ocean and magnificent CT mountains from the suite too. The Colosseum Hotel is also located in a really secure and clean 'suburb' -called Century City. Great Mall there too for shopping. Will definitely return! Staff ultra friendly and welcoming!

Poor service when I was at the hotel. Poor service after I've left the hotel. I checked in on the 10th Feb, room 527, and there was what looked like ***** on the carpet and black throw on the bed. Upon complaining, they cleaned and offered a bottle of JC Leroux. Not even a room change. But I let it go & didn't want to be difficult. I forgot my charger in my room and called them hours later and they confirmed they have it. Between the 13th & today, 21st Feb, I have called the hotel countless times. I've spoken to Aden , and to another gentleman whose name starts with a D... both keep taking my details saying Ayanda(manager) will call back. Never does. Last night they took my email saying he'll send me a link for courier payment. It's almost close of business, still nothing. So I have to call them AGAIN, for the millionth time.

Booked the Deluxe Suit what the pictures showed and what we got was not accurate, was a bit disappointing , had no hot water decided not to complain as i didn't want to be that guest and over looking it was not the best especially in the cold... then the Waste in the Shower kept popping up as we ran shower and the waste from inside came up while showering was disgusting had several Hairdryers that did not work Heard board was loose really horrid. would never recommend that room again or maybe just the room we were offered... for a top Hotel i expected more. Other than that the Staff was probably the best part of the hotel fast friendly and efficient when you needed help. Found it weird that that particular room was not advertised on the pictures so they advertise the best but give you what is left over.
