Hands down the worst solutions based business I have EVER come across IN MY LIFE. While the current owner Marlene is nice and seems to WANT to be helpful, she really is not - she is negative and *********** and completely wasted my time for three days with NONSENSE correspondence about how my software was about to expire, never once addressing the actual inquiry or issues at hand.. Here's how it ended: Her: Wow Ill just respond to Hello Peter with the truth. im not after squeezing as much money as i can out of cash strapped customers, but also keeping them informed and helping them with problems that they encounter because apple is moving so fast. Youre cash strapped, Lredy have software, and you dont want info, fine by me, happy landings. Me: But you're NOT helping! All you've done is ask me about specs and software - which has nothing to do with the original inquiry - can you upgrade the OS and service the machine - no answer. THEN do you have a second hand machine that might work for me - again no answer - so please tell me how have you helped???????????? I came to you because Brendan HIGHLY recommended you. I appreciate that you are TRYING to help but you don't seem to understand that you have given no path as to how you can do that?? You've literally given me nothing to go on! I would rather be ********** and GET at least OPTIONS to a solution or better yet an ACTUAL solution but you have failed to do that so again, please tell me HOW IS THIS HELPFUL? And while info is somewhat helpful, it's not a solution is it? So basically 3 days of back and forth emails and where has it gotten me? Absolutely nowhere - is that how you define helpful? I asked you TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK I SHOULD do in your professional opinion and all you kept doing is telling me Adobe is going to stop working. Again, that does NOT achieve anything - how do you not see that? I wanted to support you and told you if necessary - I'll FIND the money to upgrade machines and sell this one - did you miss that???? READ YOUR EMAILS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously is EVERYONE on this planet fast asleep - ya'll must WAKE UP! YOU RUN A BUSINESS - WAKE - UP!!! THIS is the truth and the ONLY way I do things. You're nice but I don't want nice - I want solutions. And you have failed 100% to provide a single one. ====================================== So if you own a mac and are thinking of her as your SP, I don't recommend it.

On Monday I took in my laptop to be checked and requested for the software to be updated. I sat there for more than an hour and parts were replaced, yet I was not asked. I had another appointment to get to and said I’d be back later that day to collect it. Marlene agreed to that. When I got back my laptop was not ready, I was neither informed that it wouldn’t be ready. The following day I phoned asking when my laptop will be ready and I was told by Jacky that the machine is off and they are trying to get it fixed. By Wednesday I had lost patience, because Jacky and Marlene did not communicate with me. I then requested for my laptop to be returned by the end of day. I did not receive a quote, Jacky delivered the laptop and charged me for what I don’t know, because there is no difference when using my laptop. The following day I phoned asking where my receiver was for my cordless mouse. Marlene was adamant that she gave it to me, which she didn’t, because she never saw it in the first place. I am now inconvenience to buy another receiver. My experience with MacWorx was awful. Marlene is too old to be playing around with laptops that people have worked hard for to buy. Her memory is not the greatest and she should retire. Jacky and Marlene are terrible t communicating. All she should’ve done was admit to losing it and not blame me. Take accountability Marlene!!!!!

I took my 2013 MacBook Pro into MacWorx due to it not charging, as a last ditch attempt before resigning myself to the possibility that I might as well just buy a new Macbook considering that mine may very well not be able to be fixed, or at least the finance to pay for it was going to be exhorbitant (quotes ranging into the R9000 range) I was met with Marlene, who was very kind and friendly and explained what she believed could be wrong, and that they would see what they could do. Still expecting that this was going to be a costly exercise, I also asked if they could sort out my wobbly screen hinge.Marlene explained this might be a bit more difficult, but they will see what they can do. I was so very pleasantly surprised when a week later I was called to come fetch the Macbook and that everything had been fixed. This seemed nearly too good to be true, so I went and checked it out: 1. They had replaced the charging port 2. They had analysed the battery and advised that my battery was not doing so great and would likely need a new one fairly soon. 3. They had fixed my wobbly screen 4. They replaced the rubber feet underneath 5. They had replaced some *****s in the shell casing which had gone missing at some point. The entire exercise cost me just under R4500. My Macbook Pro is working even better than what it did before - it's fast, the screen is great, it charges perfectly.. no catch. I HIGHLY recommend MacWorx, Marlene and her team.. You will not be disappointed.

I had the worst experience with Macworx regarding repairing my Imac and I warn everybody never to use them as you will regret it, like I have. I took my iMac in only to be serviced, of which I was quoted R3,400. When I asked Marlene when I could have it back she said "in a few days". She then asked me if I wanted a 2T hard drive fitted and I said yes plus another piece of hardware she said I required. That was not the problem. The problem was that eventually after a week I phoned to find out when I could fetch my mac as I had heard nothing, and I was told to fetch it last week Thursday morning the 11th September 2021 at 10am. I reside in Boksburg and they are in Randburg which is 50 km away from me and takes almost one hour one way, and when I arrived there Marlene said "sorry your Mac is not ready." Why not just phone before the time and tell me not to come thru because my Mac is not ready? She then told me to come on Friday at 10am, I was already 10 mins on the road when I received a call that my Mac was not ready, so I made a u-turn and went home, with the promise that my Mack would be ready on Saturday morning 11th September 2021 at 10am. When my wife and I arrived there Saturday morning, Marlene informed us that my Mac should have been here, and that she does not know where it is as "the guy should have been here long ago". She asked us if we would come back at 2pm, and because it would have been insane to go home and come back again, my wife and I decided to go shopping at Cresta. We returned 4 hours later and arrived at 2pm and she still did not know where my Mac was. I got angry and told her that I want my Mac immediately and that she must do whatever to ensure that I get it now. She phoned someone and my Mac arrived 15 mins later, but incomplete. They did not make a backup of all my items as they said they would do, and wiped all my programs because when I turned my Mac on, nothing was working. We left at 5pm after the technicians told me that everything was working. When I asked Marlene what I owed her, she said "I hope you are sitting down because you owe me R8000". I felt extremely uncomfortable because initially I only wanted a service but I know that Mac parts are expensive, but after R8k I at least want my Mac in proper working order. When I informed Marlene that I was a dissatisfied customer because nothing on my Mac worked, she was firstly accommodating and offered to fix the problem, but then tried to twist the entire scenario and manipulate the problem they created into being my fault and that she is not going to take my rudeness and refuses to deal with me. This is why I am writing this report. Because I will never again trust Macworx to work on my three iMacs, I will cut my losses and take all my Macs to Macworks (with an "s") with whom I have never had a problem before. I strongly advise everyone to do the same thing. Macworks number is 081 479 0844 and speak to Priyanka. You will not be disappointed. Eugene Havenga Concepts & Productions.

I've been having my Mac serviced for years now at Macworx and have had nothing but excellent service. I also bought a refurbished mac from them at a good price which has been totally reliable. Geoff have helped me with all my hardware and software issues for 9 years now and have not gone anywhere else since I discovered them. Geoff and Marlene Black are extremely helpful and pleasant to deal with and there prices are very reasonable. A big Thumbs-Up to Macworx

They don't have a good business model, by their own admission - Prince said it was better to go through IStore to repair a Mac - the IStore was better priced and gave a better guarantee that what MacWorks were able to. They failed to respond to my electronic communications- Prince again. Not certain why you would use them????

I received excellent service from MacWorx. Not only are Geoff and Marlene the best service providers I have ever used for my Mac, but also friendly, kind and patient. They definitely walk an extra mile or two for me with the best prices I could find. I highly recommend MacWorx. Thank you Geoff and Marlene. Elmarie Claassens, Clinical Psychologist

<p>I have had previous satisfactory dealings with Marlene Blackfrom Macworx. In light of this in January 2016 I started negotiating with her to purchase a refurbished Macbook. After a number of emails and WhatsApp chats, we decided on a deal and a price. I asked for a R500 discount as that was my maximum budget. I confirmed all aspects of the offer in an email to which Marlene replied and agreed on 27 January - important to note this statement "Hello there Dear Friend ....The deal is confirmed - I’ll see it has a new battery too."</p> <p> </p> <p>Part of the deal was to trade in my old MacBook. On 3 February I sent Marlene a WhatsApp advising that my daughter would drop this off for me. Her response was one of excitement "Aha, so it's happening. SOOO exciting!" and came with the following statement - "I have another one. Much better than the first. It will be good for a long time. The extra is my birthday present to you - as a friend and a fellow Aries!! *** "</p> <p> </p> <p>I went to collect my purchase on Sat 6 February. As we were pressed for time (I had asked Marlene to please load everything and copy the old over to new machine (that's why I had the old Mac dropped off a few days beforehand), but she had not so. I sat with her for an hour and we worked through it together. I eventually HAD to leave but because there was not time to put the new batter in (Marlene could not find it), her words to me were "take this as it is and let me know how the battery is holding out . If it is less than about 7 hours, just bring this one back and I will fit the new one when you are back in Johannesburg"</p> <p> </p> <p>I left very excited about my machine and arranged to do the EFT the following day as I was travelling to Limpopo. On 9 February I advised Marlene by WhatsApp that the battery was only holding power for 2 hours. I also advised that I had made the payment. She replied that payment was R500 short? I asked what she meant as we had agreed on that amount? That's when it all turned ugly.</p> <p> </p> <p>Marlene completely denied that she had agreed to this deal, and has since refused to give me the new battery or assist in other things that were wrong with the laptop. Most importantly, despite more than 4 emails and Whatsapp messages asking for an invoice, I have still not received such. Marlne is ignoring this request completely. I need this as it was a business purchase and an invoice is required for tax purposes.</p> <p> </p> <p>I have all emails and WhatsApp chats on file supporting my claim. I would simply like to receive what was agreed upon - a new battery and my invoice.</p> <p> </p>
