My Seagate external hard drive crashed after I forced my Mac to shut down as it had frozen. I was very impacted. I contacted Seagate directly to see what I could do. They have offered to courier it to their lab in the Netherlands to see if they can fix it. I was blown away by the kindness and support and generosity of spirit from them. I have loved their products for over a decade, and now I love them even more because I connected with the team behind the scenes.

On the 12th may I messaged Seagate and asked them how I open a backed up folder to view exactly what files had been backed up on my 4TB Seagate Expansion drive. On 22 May they eventually came back to me requesting I log a case with technical support using a ref number they gave me. I duly did exactly that. To cut a long story short, to date I have still not received a reply nor a resolution to my original request. Seagate support is worse than useless and if there was anything less than a 1 star rating I would be using it. I know they don't care, but on principal I will never buy another Seagate product again.

On 10 February 2020, I told Seagate Disc Support that on my original external Seagate HDD all folders were functioning perfectly except one certain folder. 1. On 20 February 2020, the original 2 TB external Seagate HDD was picked up at my address from a subcontractor of StarTrack, which Seagate Recovery Services Amsterdam (Netherlands) received only on 6 May 2020. That could have been to the Coronavirus pandemic. 2. 13 May 2020, Seagate Recovery Services wrote as soon as “you plug your drive into the USB port, a prompt should automatically ask you for a password. Enter the password provided to you via email and click ‘UNLOCK’”. I NEVER received a password by email. 3. On 22 May 2020, I received a parcel containing a replacement external Seagate HDD from Seagate Recovery Services. I immediately replied by email to Seagate Recovery Services telling them that I had NOT received a password by email. I told them that I needed the password urgently, because I could not open the replacement external Seagate HDD. 4. On 25 May 2020, since I had not received an answer from them, I send a reminder to Seagate Recovery Services by email. I also them they should confirm that all other folders contained on the original external Seagate HDD. A courtesy copy was sent to Seagate Disc Support. 5. By 27 May 2020 I had not received an answer from Seagate Recovery Services nor from Seagate Disc Support. Therefore, I sent another reminder to Seagate Recovery Services AND to Seagate Disc Support. I told them that, if I did NOT receive an email to my email address, I would publish my NEGATIVE EXPERIENCE with Seagate on all websites. By 29 May 2020, I have not received an email from Seagate Recovery Services and Seagate Disc Support. This means that the replacement external Seagate HDD is useless, because I NEVER received a password. If I could, I would award Seagate Recovery Services and Seagate Disc Support zero points for not answering my emails sent to them after I received the replacement external Seagate HDD on 22, on 25 and on 27 May 2020.

I spent a ton of money buying 2 seagate backup plus hubs. I am unable to use the seagate toolkit download facility as it keeps coming up with a message that there is no internet connectivity while i am running at nearly 10 meg and can download and upload from other sites freely. I tried online support which doesn't work because surprise surprise their system cannot recognise the serial number on the back of the device! What an unbeleivably useless company and I recommend that businesses stay away from using this company with faulty systems no support and a seriously bad attitude! total waste of money!

I have two hardly used 2T travel drives. One red and one blue. They both do not connect properly, it feels as if the drive's port are worn. And that is impossible! I have a 500G Seagate travel drive for 2years and I use it VERY much, but the port gives NO trouble. Why are these two new and expensive drives such bad quality? I've always just bought Seagate...but now I am thinking their standards has dropped!

I bought a seagate 1TB from Incredible Connections. Within three weeks it stopped working and started ticking - I googled it and went straight to the store. When I got to Incredible Connection they informed me that should I wish to recover my data (a years worth of design & photographs) it would cost R2000-R3000. In addition, should I recover my data I would lose my warrantee as the device has now been open. The other option they gave me was to lose my data but keep my warrantee with Seagate! There is no logic in this option as you buy a harddrive to store your data.
