Writing I would like to raise a concern regarding the extremely disappointing service I experienced today at Total Sports Canal Walk. I visited the store to process a return for an item that I had purchased using my debit card. Despite the fact that a debit card payment is essentially treated as a cash transaction, I was informed that a cash refund could not be issued and that I would need to wait 3–5 working days for the refund to reflect. This was frustrating, especially considering that the payment was taken from my account immediately at the time of purchase. What made the situation even more disappointing was the manner in which it was handled by the staff. When I requested to speak with the store manager, the staff member left briefly and then returned to say that the manager was unavailable. The interaction that followed lacked professionalism and courtesy. The cashier, Naqeeba, and the supervisor, Sharna, appeared dismissive and somewhat arrogant in their response. They indicated that I was “more than welcome” to take the matter up with head office and even requested my details so that they could notify head office themselves, which I provided. Rather than attempting to assist or de-escalate the situation, the response felt indifferent to my concerns as a customer. Customer service is a critical part of any retail experience, and unfortunately the level of service and attitude displayed during this interaction fell far below what one would reasonably expect. Based on this experience, I will not be shopping at Total Sports again. I sincerely hope that the company reviews its customer service standards and staff training to ensure that other customers do not have similar experiences. For anyone reading this, I would strongly encourage considering other retailers where customer service and professionalism are treated with greater importance.

The Staff is amazing some gave me a little bit of grief to return running shoes that was too big. One specific Staff member Sam was excellent and amazing. He sorted my problem out and I got my new running shoes from Bass within 2 days. Excellent service to Totalsport and Bass and Sam. I thank you and will recommend your store and the online Bass store to everyone. Thank you Sam 🙏

I went to Totalsports Blue Route today. I asked the assistant Xoliswa to source a sneaker for me. She was very helpful, she checked on the system and Totalsports North Gate had 4 pairs. She called the store, explained which sneaker I was looking for. The person on the lines name was Thato. After a few minutes of checking Thato advised Xoliswa they don't have the Sneaker. Xoliswa explained that it shows they have 4 pairs in size 9 and she gave the code. Thato advised Xoliswa that he can't go and check. She explained that I'm standing in store wanting to know whether they had the Sneaker, Thato again advised that he can't go check. How is it that there are 4 pairs and you refuse to look for it.

I would like to take a moment to recognise and thank Mos*** at Totalsports Clearwater Mall for his exceptional customer service. After trying to purchase an item online and finding no stock available, I contacted the Glen branch and was informed that the only remaining item was at the JHB Central store — a location that can be unsafe to visit. Unfortunately, the Glen branch manager and staff were unwilling to assist with arranging a transfer.Lies about its not in their policy and staff can get fired for doing that.Such ******* info ,and i guess they too lazy to go the extra mile,I wonder why your branch is always so quiet and stagnant...Guess its the service!!! I then contacted the Clearwater Mall branch, where Mos*** went above and beyond to help me. He took the initiative, arranged the item, and made the entire process easy and stress-free. Great service should be acknowledged, and Mos*** truly demonstrated professionalism, willingness to help, and genuine care for customers. Thank you for making the extra effort — it does not go unnoticed!

I had a bad experience with totalsport I bought my mom tekkies at totalsport maponya mall the talkies were on sale and they didn't fit her I had to return them but when I get there I was told that I need to top money because I brought them on sale I find this not appropriate which means now I need to fit with takkies that are small because I'm told to top money totalsport at jabulani mall in Soweto. What a very bad experience I'm so disappointed with totalsport I had to come back with them I also had a slip this so disappointed which means if you buy something on sale you can't return it back
