For an organizaton which is hosting such a biggest event in the country its a nightmare to try and communicate with. You don't answer your phones or reply to your emails. I placed an order for the blue jacket and I was hoping I could pick it up in Cape Town but i couldn't get hold of anyone to give the location and the operating times. now i need to know if you are going to courier the jacket and when i can expect the delivery. 2025 Half Marathon a fiasco. Not all entrants received goodie bags. Certainly not enough water points - not even for normal day never mind hot day as 2025 event. Starting intervals changed night before but no communication to runners - organisers have everyone’s emails and mobile numbers. Why rely on Social Media channels only ?

I have substituted my 21km two oceans marathon entry on the 22 February 2024 and received a email from two oceans marathon saying I need to forward my banking details and confirmation of banking details, of which I did.i got a reply saying it will take 21 days to have my refund paid into my account. It's pass 21 days and I have followed up via email with two oceans marathon but no reply. In marathon I fortunately was giving contact details of a staff member I wish not to mention .I was told by the staff member that my refund was confirmed and will take 7 working day to processed, it's pass 7 working days and still my refund was laid into my banking account...this process is coming on since 22 February and the ultra and 21km is done and dusted.

I have been substituted and submitted by proof of banking for a refund in February. I have been contacting them telephonically and by email to no avail yet other members have received their refund. I phone from my cellular phone and it costs me money every time I phone, yet I do not get the assistance I need. I have been promised that my refund would take place and then when I contacted them before the race I was advised that they only deal with race enquiries and will have to contact them again. I have been phoning non-stop yet the phones are not answered

I am highly disappointed at the lack of service I have received from the race organisers. I unfortunately had to substitute my entry due to unforeseen circumstances. The substitution was made on time in Feb, and I was required to send my proof of banking details for the refund of my entry to be processed, which was to be received in 21days. It has been over 40days, with more lies each time I follow up. I am convinced that this is a delay tactic so the organisation can earn interest income on money that doesn’t belong to them.

My fellow runners, I really think that the TOM management is being very unfair with their decision.They could have carried our entry fees over for next year's race. We should boikot this world most beautiful Marathon next year.

Two Oceans race was cancelled due to Covid 19. 22 000 participants at ave R880 per entry, and no refund = R19,3mil. To refund athletes is the right thing to do! Alternatively guarantee 2021 entry and send running clubs the 2020 t-shirts for distribution to entrants.
